Chapter 69 – Grace from a Motorcycle God
When everyone was ready, it was only then that the filming officially started.
The plot to be filmed in that night was very simple. After the heroine is dumped, she tastes the bitter fruit brought to her by her love notes. Crestfallen, she walks down the road alone in the middle of the night and then, she is almost hit by a motorcycle delivering food, and saved by the supporting actress in time.
Fortunately, this episode did not require Su Jin’s tears, otherwise, Su Jishi could only ask for eye drops to help her.
The “greedy” delivery motor has become the major prop of this scene which just saved the production team from fire and water. Before filming began, the director came to the motorcycle and touched it devoutly with his head bowed down, and eyes closed as if he was praying.
He then lit a cigarette. Now what is that for?! Su Jishi exclaimed in her mind.
Su Jishi was stunned to see the director suddenly put the lighted cigarette on the headlights of the motorcycle. It was not until the cigarette was burnt out that his little ceremony ended.
This superstition is really interesting.
She didn’t know if there was indeed a blessing bestowed by a “Motorcycle God” or not, but this evening’s performance went very smooth. Originally, the director was worried that the two delicate female artists would perform poorly after the incident, however, Su Jishi was in a very good condition!
She was fully involved in the filming (because she wanted to finish filming earlier and go home to bed earlier), her cooperation could be considered higher than the last few days.
With Su Jishi at her side giving the audience room for comparisons, Zhou Jing didn’t dare to slack off and could only cheer up and cooperate with her.
The clock hit 3 o’clock of dawn when the evening’s shoot reached its finality.
Previously, all the staff already accepted the bitter truth that they will be working all night till dawn but who would have thought that in just a few hours, all the work would be finished?
When the last scene was taken, the recording personnels looked foolish, still in disbelief that all the work had been finished overnight. The assistant director also looked stunned, surrounded by other crew members who also stood blankly in their places, like a group of idle little snails.
The silence was however shattered when the executive director who came to pioneer the shooting of the scene started laughing at their faces before scolding them lightly.
“Usually, you are very clever, each one of you. How come I am greeted with this unresponsiveness! Why are you still staring at me? It’s finished, you idiots! Pack up everything!”
Oh … yes, yes! They’re finished!
As a matter of fact, the movie “Mysterious Notebook” was finished three months ago but some scenes needed to retaken. If it weren’t for the supporting actress who played Zhou Jing’s role being suddenly blacklisted by radio and television, Zhou Jing wouldn’t have jumped in as a substitute.
Although it didn’t take much time for the remake, all the staff felt sincerely that the remake was a pain in the arse! This tiredness was not physical, but rather a psychological exhaustion.
Zhou Jing, the little red-faced starlet of the net was always seen scampering and bossing around, even if she was obviously not superior yet.
And what about Su Jin? Su Jin didn’t pay any attention to her at all, just like a lioness who would not pay attention to a mouse burrowing by the roadside.
Every day of watching Zhou Jing bounce around, the starlet herself certainly didn’t tire off, but rather, it was others who was exhausted because of her!
Fortunately, this work was finally over today! Hooray!
“Sister Su!”
The sweet voice of the girl sounded, and Su Jishi, who was talking with her assistant, turned her head subconsciously—only to hear the “click” sound of a camera. The look of Su Jishi looking back was captured by a mobile phone camera…
And the person holding the mobile phone was none other than Zhou Jing!
Zhou Jing stretched her left arm, held up her mobile phone, put her right hand on her cheek, making out a cute expression. Her head occupied more than half of the mobile phone screen, while another small area behind her was reserved for Su Jishi.
“What was that?”
Zhou Jing cheekily said, “Of course it was a photo taken as a souvenir.”
She knew that if she directly asked Su Jin for a photo, Su Jin would definitely not agree. So she tricked Su Jin to turn around and pressed the shutter button in time.
Zhou Jing’s calculated everything before doing the deed. She knew that Su Jin looks better than her. After all, Su Jin’s face was pure and natural, and her expression was effortless. Actresses know how to manage facial expressions, but no one can control their facial expressions when their photo is taken candidly!
