Chapter 46 – Crocodile Tears
Su Jishi was brought back into her memory. “Our parents divorced when we were eight years old.”
Su Jishi spoke very fast as if she was watching a very dull movie. She desperately fast-forwards, trying to skip the boring plot in the middle.
“My father is a very irresponsible person. For him, getting married and having children is only to accomplish a certain stage of life. It was time to get married, so he met my mother. It’s time to have a baby, so we are here. His feelings were not sincere; the three of us in his eyes were only like beautiful dolls at home, which he didn’t need to communicate. In his heart, the most important person is always himself. “
“But my mother is a very romantic person. She was a music teacher. She taught us singing and sent us to learn how to dance. Every time she came back from the dance class, she would hug my sister with one hand, hug me with another, kiss our faces and say that we are her most precious treasure … At the age of eight, she finally couldn’t stand her husband’s indifference and decided to divorce him.”
“But,” Su Jishi lift a heavy sigh of relief, “but on the day she left, she told us that she could not support two children and could only take one.”
Listening to her, Fang Xie’s breathing became lighter.
This is it!
“I chased after her, crying all the time and asking her why. I said I am not afraid of suffering and hunger. As long as the three of us are together, I can have no new dress, no cupcakes, and no dolls. I wanted only her … but she didn’t turn back.”
Until then, Fang Xie did not understand why Su Jishi and Su Jinqing were so estranged from each other. Even if their parents divorced, the twin daughters could still grow close to each other.
Yet, the sisters haven’t seen each other for ten years, even the news of their mother’s death was unknown to Su Jishi.
It was not until this moment that the truth came out.
“It was the first time in my life that I felt helpless and wronged. It was also the last time.” Su Jishi said this long string of words, slightly closed her eyes, trying to get in character.
Wronged, helpless, and vulnerable, she had to feel these emotions.
Su Jinqing had a mother, but she didn’t have a father. Growing on her own, Su Jishi was like a sedimentary rock, wrapping herself in layers of hard material, enduring the high temperature, and becoming what she was.
All she had to was to break through that hard material.
That sentiment came and disappeared fast. When Su Jishi lifted her eyes again, it was full of brilliance, a thick mist deep in her eyes.
That feeling comes quickly and goes even faster. When she lifted her eyes again, all the brilliance gathered, leaving only a thick mist that could not be seen through deep in the eye pupil.
“Don’t worry.” She said, “When the shooting starts later, I’ll be acting with this feeling.”
After 20 minutes of preparation, Su Jin appeared again on the set, and her acting could be described as advancing by leaps and bounds.
In the same scene, when Su Jin turned around, her deep eyes locked with Zhou Jing with hurt, her eyebrows slightly wrinkled, and two rows of thick eyelashes shook gently. The next second, a bright tear rolled from the corner of her eye, fell on her collarbone, and broke into glittering flowers.
Zhou Jing: “…”
When they least expected it, Su Jishi knocked on their hearts like a tyrant, playing with their feelings!
The director sitting behind the monitor was so surprised that he quickly gestured to the cameraman to push the camera over to her immediately.
Su Jin’s facial features were naturally graceful, and under the makeup done by the artist’s skillful hands, she brought a delicate and pitiful feeling to the set.
And this unexpected drops of tears, just like globules of water rolling from petals, awakened everyone’s deepest desire for protection and made them want to send their palms to her and catch all her sadness.
The camera that had been stuck for a long time finally passed. The director was ecstatic and watched the scene over and over again. The more he watched it, the more he liked it.
As for the group of acting students sitting in the gallery, they were even more convinced by Su Jin’s tears.
“Who said Su Jin could not act?!”
“Now drag those who doubted in her and castrate them for an hour!
“Jin Jin, baby ah, don’t cry, you can directly fall into my arms!”
While everyone was immersed in that tear, Su Jishi covered her face and flew down quickly from the platform. She dragged Ashan up and ran to the nearest restroom.
Ashan was dizzy and felt like a giant kite flying low behind Su Jishi.
“Sister Su, why, what’s the matter?” He asked out of breath.
Su Jishi: “Come on! I cried too much just now. The fake mole at the corner of my eye seems to have been wiped out by my crocodile tears!”
Ashan: “….”
