Chapter 13
Tang Zhou immediately hung up the phone to stop Ji Qishu from continuing to speak. He then excitedly said to Ye Junqing, “Junqing, there’s a mermaid inside, even more beautiful than Xia Yanyan!”
“Did you have too much to drink?”
“Absolutely not, don’t you know my drinking capacity? Come over quickly. Let’s go and take a look together. I guarantee you’ll feast your eyes.”
Tang Zhou, itching with impatience, hastened Ye Junqing’s languid ascent up the steps. When Ye Junqing neared, Tang Zhou immediately made a welcoming gesture for him to go ahead. He followed behind, rubbing his hands together excitedly.
Ye Junqing leisurely sauntered into the swimming pool area and swept his gaze around, “Where’s the mermaid?”
“That’s strange. She was in the swimming pool just now.”
Tang Zhou rushed to turn on the lights and peered into the rippling water of the pool, not sparing even the smallest corner. His eyes acted like searchlights.
However, the pool was so clear and blue. If there was indeed a mermaid, she would be clearly visible.
Scratching his head, Tang Zhou exclaimed, “That’s impossible! I clearly saw her just now. Was it an illusion?”
Ye Junqing gave him a cold look, “Go home and sober up.”
With that, he swung his long legs and departed.
Noticing that Tang Zhou hadn’t followed him as he reached the entrance, Ye Junqing looked back, “Aren’t you coming?”
“Junqing, I genuinely saw her. I didn’t mistake it. Maybe she hid somewhere. I’ll go look.”
Ye Junqing’s voice grew colder, “Next time you dare to stay out until the middle of the night, I will break your legs!”
“But I really…”
Unfortunately, before Tang Zhou could finish, Ye Junqing had already left. The silent pool was left with the authoritative echo, “Keep up.”
Defeated, Tang Zhou could only stiffly follow him. As he got to the entrance of the swimming area, he was muttering, “Could I really be that drunk?”
Only after Ye Xingguang and others left did she emerge from an obscure portal.
Having escaped a disaster unscathed, she heaved a sigh. Fortunately, she had narrowly avoided exposing herself.
Wiping away sweat, Ye Xingguang muttered to herself: Oh well, I can’t afford not to hide my true self. Otherwise, I would have to return home to claim the throne!
In the middle of the night, making sure that there were no movements outside, Ye Xingguang discreetly slinked out of the mermaid swimming club.
Upon returning to the villa, she poured herself a glass of water. As she sat on the living room couch, drinking her water, she lifted her nightgown to check her legs. The rash seemed to have faded, and it didn’t itch anymore. That was a relief.
After Ye Junqing dismissed Tang Zhou, he returned to the villa to find a charming girl sitting on the couch, lifting her robe to admire her slender and unwieldy legs.
Suddenly, Ye Junqing’s face darkened.
Does this woman know that by doing this, she becomes the source of sin in every man’s eyes?
Unwilling to be enchanted any longer, he shouted, “What are you doing?”
Ye Xingguang wasn’t expecting that someone would enter from outside in the middle of the night. When her chastised by a cold voice, she was startled, causing her to lose her grip on her hot water. The cup of hot water spilled onto her legs, scorching her and making her gasp in pain.
“Ah, it’s so hot!” Ye Xingguang cried out as she jumped from the pain.
Ye Junqing’s face tightened. Almost instinctively, he rushed over. When he saw her creamy-white skin visibly reddening from the scald, instead of offering comfort, his voice was unusually cold, “You fool! Can’t you even hold a cup without dropping it!”
