After seeing Tong Lele drag his luggage into the lift, the butler stood next to Mo Qijue, his face grim. “Young Master, we’ve never mentioned anything about his mother in front of the Little Master, yet he could recognize Tong Jiumo from a photo.”
“The chef recommended by the Michelin chef, Mr. Gordon, is Tong Jiumo.”
Mo Qijue’s face turned cold, as did his voice while he spoke.
The butler nodded slightly, before fully realizing what Mo Qijue had said. He looked at Mo Qijue, shocked. “Young Master, what did you say? The chairman of the Gourmet Association is Miss Tong Jiumo? Jiu, the chef that Mr. Gordon took in as an apprentice, the biggest star on BBC’s food shows? The one who created the best stew of the century?”
Mo Qijue looked indifferent at the butler’s excitement. “You know her?”
“Of course I know her! No, I mean, I’ve always paid attention to the celebrity chef Jiu, I watched every season of her show.”
The butler was visibly moved. “Young Master, I didn’t realize she was Miss Tong Jiumo!
“Jiu always wore a mask when filming, so no one has ever seen her real face except for Mr. Gordon.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
Mo Qijue was not interested in that woman at all.
“Young Master, she has a very good reputation. Anyone who can cook so well is also impressive, with high IQ and EQ, and knows how to live life well.”
The butler looked at Mo Qijue while saying that.
Mo Qijue glared at the butler with his sharp gaze. “What are you trying to say?”
The butler had accompanied him for years, and of course, he knew the butler’s words had a double meaning.
“Young Master, I think you should let go of the prejudice you have against Miss Tong Jiumo. After all, she is the Little Master’s biological mother.” The butler lowered his head, and spoke, even though it was risky for him to be saying it. “What happened then was indeed an accident, the cruise ship sank, it—”
“Silence!”
Mo Qijue interrupted the butler coldly. “What happened then was an accident, but why did the victim have to be Mu Wanqing and not Tong Jiumo? Tong Jiumo was the one who should’ve died, but instead, she pushed Mu Wanqing towards the abyss of death!”
It had been five years, and yet there was still no trace of her—he hadn’t even gotten to bury her!
During the shipwreck, five people had gone missing, including his fiancée Mu Wanqing.
The butler blanched, the blood draining from his face.
The shipwreck had been a huge blow to both the Young Master and the Mu family.
The butler also knew that the Young Master owed the Mu family a lot.
“Mu Wanqing had already lost her sight, and yet she still had to suffer and die by Tong Jiumo’s hands. It was an accident? Even if Wanqing could swim, where would a blind person like her swim to?”
The butler dared not to say another word.
If it weren’t for Mu Wanqing, the Madam’s eyes would never have been cured.
It was Wanqing who had donated her corneas to the Madam. The Madam had regained her eyesight, but in the process, Mu Wanqing had lost hers and had to live in darkness.
Mo Qijue respected his parents and was a filial child.
Since Mu Wanqing’s sacrifice had let his mother regain her eyesight, he had publicly announced that Wanqing was his fiancéem, and he would take care of her for the rest of her life.
“Then, Young Master… what do we do with Miss Tong Jiumo?” asked the butler softly.
“I will slowly let her understand the pain and despair of losing someone.”
Mo Qijue clenched his fist and viciously slammed it into the wall.
The butler’s heart fell, his eyes were full of shock. He looked at the furious Mo Qijue. “Young Master, you’re saying that you want to keep Miss Tong Jiumo by your side?”
