Chapter 325 – But Ye Rongchen had never even suggested that he wanted to get back together with her. (1)
Zhang Yuanjia had always been a sensitive one but, under the Yan Shuyu’s influence, he was ongoing like any other child his age. In addition, he had been told a lot by his mother that his father was tall, big, and outstanding. As such, he looked up to his father a lot in his mind. Now that he was able to meet his father and saw that he was, indeed, as tall, big, and incredible as his other had described, he felt a sense of familiarity with him. He walked up, smiled at him, and said, “Daddy.”
Ye Rongchen couldn’t wait anymore but pulled his little body into his arms. Zhang Yuanjia felt a little awkward at the beginning but he quickly relaxed his body. Perhaps it was the nature of a father and his son, Zhang Yuanjia even reached out his little hand and patted his father on his shoulder.
The loving father-and-son scene made Yan Shuyu particularly happy. Her son’s father had reappeared and the two of them hit it off right away. Surely their relationship would continue to grow stronger. Her future was nothing but brightness.
As she was being exited, she turned and noticed the boss looking at her. When their eyes met, the boss started smiling immediately, and a particularly happy smile at that.
Yan Shuyu was baffled. Was the boss touched by this scene in front of them as well?
Yan Shuyu had no idea what was going through the boss’s mind at the moment but she could tell that her son was very accepting to his father the showed up out of nowhere. The first time the two met each other and they were about to hug and cried into each other’s arms. There wasn’t even a transition period before the two were affectionate with each other.
The two of them spending a few hours together wasn’t good enough. Zhang Yuanjia also made plans to hang out with his father the next day. The normally hardworking little boy had put his father over his school work.
That being said, her son being able to meet with his father was a great thing that happened entirely by chance. Yan Shuyu felt very relieved and could understand why her son wanted to spend more time with his father. Not only did she not try to talk him out of it, she even took a few days off for him with his school and the musical institution so he could spend as much time as he wanted with his father.
In the next few days that followed, Zhang Yuanjia would leave the house early, come back late, and had more fun than he could described. Ye Rongchen didn’t complain about being tired at all and just spend everyday with his son happily. He would not give his son the star if moon was what he had asked for. It seemed that he wanted to make up for all the lost years all at once.
Yan Shuyu secretly thought that he was being a pretty decent father. Much more loving than the Boss, that was for sure.
Yan Shuyu’s philosophy on child-rearing was the same as her folk’s, that they should dote on the children. She stressed more and asked for a lot on Zhang Yuanjia’s schoolwork in the past because she wanted him to depart from his path of being the cannon fodder and take on with him on the path to riches through hard work.
With the exception of that, she still spent a lot of time smooching him and hugging him. Unfortunately, she met the very disciplined boss who were strict when it came to himself as well as others.
The boss seemed to be a gentle and reasonable person who never lost his temper with the children and never even raised his voice. Nevertheless, he was somehow still able to encourage them to work hard everyday and never slack off. Yan Shuyu sometimes felt that the boss’s asks for the little male lead, who hasn’t even started grade school yet, was much higher than what he had for her, who was an adult.
If he was that way with his son, naturally he was the same way with her son as well. The boss was, after all, a very fair person.
