Chapter 1077: My Precious Wife (3)
An Yibei, on the other hand, acted as if he wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. Leaning toward her, he asked, “About that thing we talked about last time, do you have an answer for me now?”
Cheeks burning, Ai Bao was only able to calm down after a long while. “Do you have to go?”
“Yes.” An Yibei’s voice was a little husky. “Will you go with me?”
Ai Bao bit her lip involuntarily.
Leaving her hometown for a completely strange city was something she had never considered.
Growing up, she was used to doing as told. She went to a local university in Yu City, and the most defiant thing she ever did was move out of her parents’ place to live on her own after college…
“I still need some time.” Ai Bao lowered her head. “I’m sorry…”
An Yibei didn’t want to push her and only said casually, “That’s ok. You don’t need to apologize to me.”
Shifting his gaze back to his computer, he went back to his work.
Ai Bao was fascinated by his long fingers as he typed quickly. A moment later, An Yibei paused and broke into a chuckle. “Don’t look at me like that. I’ll get distracted.”
Ai Bao nodded, buried her face in her hands, and hurried out of his office.

The two of them went together to have lunch in the cafeteria.
An Yibei had barely sat down when a man with sleek black hair and an expensive suit patted him on the shoulder and said teasingly, “Mr. An, I see you’ve been converted! You’re eating breakfast now, I hear? I’m so glad to see you’re finally starting to care about your own health!”
“After all, I have a girlfriend now.” An Yibei smirked. “However, a pathetic single man like you can’t possibly begin to understand.”
The man pressed a hand to his chest in an exaggerated manner. “Ouch! That hurts!”
An Yibei raised an eyebrow. “That’s not the worst part. The attorney for your case tomorrow is Ye Qingqing.”
The man’s eyes lit up. “Is that so? Tsk, tsk. Isn’t she that famous beauty of Ye City that once confessed her love for you? I’ll have to figure out how to get her attention! Wait, that’s good news, no? Why did you put it that way?”
An Yibei adjusted his glasses and said calmly, “Ye Qingqing got engaged last week.”
“…” The man grimaced. “You’re heartless! Why did you have to tell me that?!”
An Yibei shrugged and ignored him. He then put some food on Ai Bao’s plate. “Have some more.”
Ai Bao thanked him immediately. “Thank you.”
“There’s no need for that.” An Yibei smiled. “What would you like? Yogurt or juice? I’ll get it for you.”
“Who’s this guy…” Ai Bao was intrigued.
The man looked shocked. “What did I just witness… An Yibei, the merciless great lawyer, is actually capable of being so gentle?! What’s gotten into you? Have you lost your mind or something?”
“He’s Tang Yuan, a lawyer from Sharp Edge.” An Yibei briefly introduced him, then eyed Tang Yuan in disdain. “Are you ever going to shut up?”
Embarrassed, Tang Yuan stopped talking. His eyes darted around, then he made a zipping gesture across his lips before whispering, “Hey, I heard quite a lot of gossip here in your firm today… I was told that your assistant lured you in and one thing led to another…”
An Yibei’s face darkened. “Who told you that?”
In another corner of the cafeteria, Xiaomi broke into a nervous cold sweat, fearing that Tang Yuan would give her away…
Tang Yuan was obviously surprised. Darting a look at Ai Bao, he asked, “So, this is serious?”
An Yibei frowned, put down his chopsticks, and said unhurriedly, “I see I need to make it clear now. Let me officially introduce you to Ai Bao, my girlfriend.”
