Chapter 1971: During the Instance Dungeon
The fifth Boss was Teron Gorefiend.
Teron Gorefiend was quite a famous character. This was because he was the first Death Knight in history.
As a Warlock, Teron was quite powerful. Naturally, Gul’dan also regarded his bloodlust and ruthlessness quite highly.
When the Orcs conquered the predecessor of the Black Temple, the Temple of Karabor, Teron completely massacred all the Draenei inside. It didn’t matter if they were male, female, elderly or young – Teron Gorefiend massacred them all.
This inhumane action caused many of even the Orcs to feel uneasy.
In the eyes of the Orcs, slaying those who could not even defend themselves was not glorious at all.
After the failure of the first Orc invasion into Azeroth, Gul’dan’s power was greatly reduced. Orgrim Doomhammer used this opportunity to mobilise his soldiers. Teron Gorefiend was the first Shadow Council Warlock who died under the Doomhammer.
However, Orgrim did not kill Gul’dan.
This was because Gul’dan promised that he was going to establish a powerful army that would only listen to Orgrim’s commands. Gul’dan found a few Human general corpses and used evil necromancy to kill Orgrim. He then transferred the souls of the Shadow Council Warlocks into these corpses, reviving them to become Death Knights.
Teron Gorefiend was the first Death Knight in history.
Gorefiend brought his army of Death Knights and invaded Azeroth a second time. They were successful in this campaign as they claimed victory after victory.
Then, when they attempted to invade Lordaeron, they were finally defeated. Most of the Death Knights were destroyed, so Teron escaped along with the survivors.
After this, Gorefiend strongly adviced Ner’zhul to open the Dark Portal once again so that he could return to Azeroth with the help of Rend Blackhand. However, he was rejected.
That night, the Black Dragon King Deathwing appeared on the foot of the Blackrock Mountains. He signed a contract with Teron to help steal the Eye of Dalaran.
As a price, Deathwing stole the Skull of Gul’dan from Ner’zhul.
After the Humans arrived at the Dark Portal, Teron and his forces began fighting a fierce war against the Humans at the Dark Portal. In the end, he died after being killed by the Commander of the expedition, the Paladin Turalyon. However, just before the destruction of his physical body, Teron’s soul managed to escape and no one could find him.
The legend of Gorefiend appeared once again during year 26 of the Dark Portal. This was also the year of the Legion’s expedition.
After a few decades, Teron Gorefiend’s story was already nearly forgotten by the people and slowly became a legend. The Draenei guardian who was responsible for Gorefiend’s soul was also dead, but the cunning Gorefiend did not give up.
His soul manifested into an image of an Orc and lured many unknowing adventurers to help remove his seal at Shadowmoon Valley.
In the end, he was finally revived after many years. Teron Gorefiend was back. After destroying his seal, he returned back to the Black Temple.
Facing Illidan, who had absorbed the power of the skull of Gul’dan, Gorefiend swore his loyalty to him. For Gorefiend, his fate, which had been on hold, was now running again. Illidan now had Gul’dan’s power and the Black Temple, which was once the Temple of Karabor.
The battle of Teron only had one phase, but it was extremely complicated. They needed to be aware of his high offensive power. The healers needed to make sure that the Tanks were safe.
As for the Doom Blossoms, these appeared on Teron’s head and increased with time. The team needed to clear Teron as quickly as they could.
The first Deathmantle would appear after ten seconds into the battle. It was said that if the Deathmantle killed its target, it would transform the dead target into a Vengeful Spirit. At the same time, when the Deathmantle made the kill, there would be four Shadow Constructs surrounding the dead player.
The player who was transformed into a Vengeful Spirit would need to kill these Shadow Constructs as soon as they could. They needed to prevent the Shadow Constructs from reaching the team. If they failed and even a single Shadow Construct reached the team, then it would be game over.
The Boss was killed after two days.
Girdle of Lordaeron’s Fallen!
This was a healing Paladin’s item, which Sky Moon immediately gave to Darkness. She was often being talked about recently. Everyone was discussing when or if she would ever return to Sorrowless. However, the higher echelons of the club had always been looking after her, so no one suspected that she would betray Ruling Sword.
Shear!
This was a two-handed axe. Moonlight didn’t hesitate to use his Guild Points to buy it.
The next Boss was Soul Capacitor.
The Temple of Karabor was the sacred place of the Draenei. There was a legendary godly weapon in the depths of the Temple – the Soul Capacitor.
The Draenei stored the souls of their best leaders, the wisest prophets and the most ferocious and powerful warriors into the Soul Capacitor. Using this godly weapon, these heroic souls would never die and fade away.
However, the Orcs soon conquered the Temple of Karabor.
Gul’dan quickly realised the power that the Soul Capacitor had contained. He retrieved the souls of the dead civilian Draenei and put them into the Soul Capacitor. He also placed the bloodthirsty Orcs’ souls into the Capacitor, as well as some of his own dark magic. In the end, the Soul Capacitor was corrupted.
However, Gul’dan didn’t expect this godly weapon to be that powerful. Even if it was corrupted, he could barely control it himself.
He had to seal the weapon away for the time being because it was that powerful.
Then, Gul’dan didn’t get to see the Soul Capacitor ever again. He followed Orgrim to Azeroth and died there. However, the Soul Capacitor always remained within the temple.
It had seen the changes that the temple went through. Countless living beings died here and countless souls wandered the halls of the temple.
Anger. Rage. Sorrow. Pain.
These souls ended up being absorbed by the Soul Capacitor.
At the present time, the Soul Capacitor was the most evil existence in the Black Temple. Any living being that dared to wander near it would immediately be consumed in the rage-filled souls.
This battle weighed heavily upon the performances of the Thieves, so Lu Li and Water Fairy couldn’t just be in their own world.
Everyone was relieved. In the words of Azure Sea Breeze, “You guys might have already done the deed in real life. Why are you guys still so lovey-dovey in the game? Be careful – maybe someday, someone might just leave the club because of you two.”
The Boss ended up dropping Grips of Damnation, which were exquisite Gloves for Thieves.
Lu Li immediately gave them up to his fiancée. There wasn’t even a hint of competition in the air.
Torch of the Damned!
The two-handed mace was given to Mu Qiu.
Wavemender’s Mantle!
This was a Chainmail Armor for healers, and naturally, it was given to Sakura Memories.
Although Sakura Memories was only picking up the leftovers from the dungeon runs, her items were still better than most main healers in the game.
The seventh Boss was Mother Shahraz. She once served Magtheridon, but now served the traitorous Illidan as one of his capable generals.
Compared to male demons, female demons were much more ruthless and devious. Furthermore, Mother Shahraz was the most notable among all the female demons. During the age of Magtheridon conquering the Black Temple, Shahraz was given complete control of all female demons within the Black Temple.
However, power simply would not be enough to keep her heart. Magtheridon’s stupidity and ego had always irked Shahraz, so when Illidan and his soldiers attacked the Black Temple, she would foresee Magtheridon’s downfall.
The cunning Shahraz sold Magtheridon out. All the female demons under her rallied themselves with Illidan. As a traitor, Shahraz, along with her female demons, killed Magtheridon’s personal guards, which allowed Illidan a direct path to Magtheridon’s nest. The pitiful Magtheridon didn’t know that he had been betrayed until he was pulled down from his throne.
Even though she wasn’t a particularly powerful female demon. Shahraz had her own ways of conquering. Even demons as powerful as Illidan were not an exception.
After Illidan took the Black Temple, Shahraz became the main guardian of the temple again. Most of the demons within the battle had died, but Shahraz and her female demons lived on within the halls of the Black Temple.
No one knew what their objective was. No one knew if they were truly loyal.
Illidan was in danger of falling into the same trap that Magtheridon fell into. After all, he had forgotten about what had happened to Magtheridon.
However, Shahraz was well-endowed. If it wasn’t for her multiple arms or her gigantic body, she might also have been attractive to normal males.
