Chapter 2: She Deserved It
Translator: 王雅琴
Senior Maid Rao arrived, followed by some maids. They were dumbstruck.
“Somebody, come! Miss Ling killed someone!” screamed the maids in great confusion.
“Miss Lin, even… even if Anxiang is a humble maid… You shouldn’t have killed her. How vicious you are!”
This was too much to expect. Senior Maid Rao had planned to come and bury Dong Ling’s body.
Luckily, she was an experienced senior maid. Soon she calmed down and gave a bitter look at the dead maid, Anxiang. She said, “Miss Ling, Anxiang came to take care of you, just in fear that you might get in trouble when you were left in the woodshed alone. But why did you…”
Seeing them, Dong Ling realized what was happening.
She wiped the water off her hair and sneered, “Take care of me? How? With cold water? You evil maids! How dared you murder your master! How lawless you are!”
Dong Ling was wet all over. But her eyes were as sharp as the hawks’.
“Is she still Miss Ling who used to be submissive? But she looks smarter and more eloquent.” thought Senior Maid Rao.
She had been stunned for a few minutes before she shed tears.
“Yes, Miss Ling. You’re right. Anxiang overstepped her authority. But even though, you shouldn’t have killed her! We have family rules!”
“Yeah, Miss Ling. Anxiang was working for you for years. Her hard work should be rewarded!” argued another maid.
Those maids started to condemn Dong Ling as if she were never a master.
“An evil guy always comes to sticky end. She deserved it! Besides, when did anyone of you see me kill her? If you frame me up, you’ll be badly flogged!” said Dong Ling seriously.
Hearing this, Senior Maid Rao looked pale.
If she was accused of framing Dong Ling up, she would be punished even if Mrs. Dong could defend her!
“Bitch! Why did she change so much after only one day? She quibbled even better than us.” Senior Maid Rao thought.
“What? You’ve got nothing to say? ” Dong Ling sneered immediately and added, “Don’t think I don’t know you came to check if I was totally killed.”
Realizing Dong Ling had seen through her plot, Senior Maid Rao got nervous. She lied, “No. No. I came to pass on a message for Master. Don’t throw mud at me!”
Dong Ling wrapped her wet dress and approached them. Suddenly, she raised the piece of red cloth over a tray Senior Maid Rao was holding.
A short dagger, whose cold light shine quietly, was lying on the tray.
“Miss Ling, you…” shouted Senior Maid Rao who panicked.
Quickly, Dong Ling knocked over all the trays in the maids’ hands. In them laid the shroud for a dead man, including a white dress, white pants, white socks and white shoes.
Looking at the dagger Senior Maid Rao was holding, even an idiot could realize what was happening.
Dong Ling was burning with anger, no matter if Mrs. Dong or her daughter Dong Feixue wanted to kill her.
She said, “Fine. I got wet. Since Mother and Sister sent me some dry clothes, I’ll put them on and say thank you to them!”
She took up the shroud from the ground and walked back to the woodshed. Meanwhile, she put the dagger around her waist in case she had to defend herself.
Anxiang’s body was on the ground where blood flew out, staining the whole ground.
Though Senior Maid Rao had experienced a lot, she couldn’t help trembling with fear.
No way!
She must go and tell Mrs. Dong and Miss Feixue about this!
Senior Maid Rao waved. Two young maids then trembled and lifted Anxiang’s body, heading for the anteroom.
After getting changed, Dong Ling came out of the woodshed. Only some blood drops were left on the ground, but she didn’t take any notice. In white, she looked pale while her black hair danced in the wind as if she were a ghost coming for revenge.
Senior Maid Rao trembled with a start and said, “Miss Ling, your father is waiting for you in the anteroom. Please come with me!”
“Humph!” Dong Ling hummed and followed her. She just wanted to see what evil tricks they had for her.
