Chapter 191 Duel of Trapped Beasts
During their conversation, the Sheriff, the Cupid, the Elder, the Guard, the Thief, the Hybrid, the Little Girl, and the Idiot had all been taken. Each identity had one person.
Yamamoto Longsan also got an identity. Of course, for the rules of the game, he would not tell anyone.
Long Xi was quite familiar with the rules of this game, finding that the rules that the judge had described were somewhat different from the table game Werewolf Kill.
Cupid should appoint two persons (including itself) as a couple on the next day.
When one in the couple was dead from voting, killing, poisoning, or shooting, the other would sacrifice themselves for love.
The couple could never kill each other.
The one who got the identity of Little Girl could peep when the Werewolves took action.
If the Werewolves found that Little Girl was peeping, they could kill her at once.
After killing Little Girl, the one they chose to kill that night was unavailable, because they could only kill one per night.
Moreover, Little Girl could not be guarded by guards.
The Guard could guard one person for a night, and this person would not be killed by Werewolves (but could be poisoned by the Witch).
The Guard could protect himself, but could not choose the same person on two consecutive nights, while Little Girl was excluded.
The Elder would not die when being attacked by Werewolves for the first time.
Only on the second time could the Elder be killed.
However, if the Elder was accidentally killed by the Villagers, the situation would get worse.
For example, if he was killed by voting, shot by the Hunter’s bullet, or poisoned by the Witch’s poison, all the identities with special abilities would get a great lesson.
If the Elder was killed, all the persons with special abilities including Hunter, Witch, and Thief would lose their abilities.
Idiot would die if he had revealed his identity before this.
Idiot had a similar function to Village, but when he was voted to die by the Villagers, he could reveal his identity to avoid death.
After revealing his identity, Idiot could not join the voting but could make a speech during the day.
Thief could choose a person alive to exchange identities with on the second day (day or night).
The one whose identity was exchanged would become the Thief. He could exchange his identity with others on the third day (day or night).
And so on.
Hybrid should choose to support a player on the first night and hold this relationship until the end of the game.
Throughout the game, only he knew who he supported, but he did not know the identity of the person he supported.
Hybrid had no special abilities, but was like an ordinary Villager.
He would not die if the one he supported was alive and could revive.
If the person he supported died, he would die with him.
Another special role was Sheriff.
Sheriff would be chosen by voting on the first day.
Since Sheriff was an additional identity, this player would keep his original identity.
Once Sheriff was elected, he could not refuse.
Sheriff was the most prestigious of all the players, so he had two votes during the voting.
In the case of a tie, he had the right to choose who would die.
If Sheriff was dead, he could appoint another player or tear the police badge off. If the badge was torn up, there would be no Sheriff for this round.
It was at night, and after all the players confirmed their identities, the two Werewolves could kill someone.
After they killed someone, Witch could choose if she would save a player and which one to save.
After Witch made her choice, Cupid could designate two players as a couple at any time.
Long Xi asked Hu Lei, “Will those players really die in front of us?”
Hu Lei said somewhat nervously, “Death in this game is authentic. I’ve seen it for myself. Players always died in terrifying and different ways. Besides, you should follow the rules of the game. Otherwise, the system will kill you at once. Oh, by the way, you’re a new player, right? That aunt and little sister are also new players. I should warn you first, the time is different from real time. We’ll stay there for a few days and nights, but just a few minutes will pass by.”
Long Xi said, “Thank you for the warning!”
Aunt Sakurako smiled and bowed slightly to Hu Lei, while Mumu intimated her mother’s manners.
Hu Lei touched Mumu’s head with affection on her face.
Long Xi thought about it and decided to confirm again, so she asked Hu Lei, “Sorry, I still hope to make sure you’re the real Hu Lei, right? Will Hu Lei be so free? He is a drama major student at Beijing Film Academy and should make films all the time, make ads, and be a spokesman. I think he should be quite busy!”
In fact, Long Xi was a little skeptical that Qiuzi’s consciousness might in this Hu Lei’s body.
Hu Lei smiled lightly and said, “People should relax even if they are so busy, right? Superstars are human beings! Ahem, whether I am Hu Lei is not the major point. What we should do is to defeat the Werewolves’ camp!”
Long Xi said, “Then, you should tell me what’s the first role you played in a TV series? What date is your birthday?”
Hu Lei said, “The role should be Ne Zha, but most people know about this. I was born on December 26th, 1999.”
Long Xi nodded and said, “Only yourself and superfans would know your birthday. Okay, I trust you! Everyone, we are now grasshoppers on a rope, so I can share some experience about playing Werewolf Kill with you. Even if I never play the real-life edition before, I used to play the table game from time to time. Since we still have enough time before the Werewolves start to kill, we can share our thoughts with each other and exchange our experience.”
The others nodded in favor and everyone sat around the table.
Hu Lei said solemnly, “So, I should go first. Werewolf is a game focusing on speech and logical reasoning even though it has plenty of characters. This kind of game has its vital attraction to everyone, because each player should use his brain to judge who is the killer, the Werewolf, the Villager, or the Prophet and should have good speaking skills to persuade others or lead others’ minds. This is really a tough task!”
Long Xi said in a joking way, “Generally speaking, we learn to make the nonsensical sound meaningful and stay logical so that no one can find out your faults. Sometimes, a Werewolf will hide deeper than anyone else, which will lead the Villagers to vote for a good person to die! In this game, you should be afraid of smart opponents and stupid teammates!”
Yamamoto Longsan said, “To this point, I also have something to say! I think this game will be more exciting with more characters! Cheating each other and reasoning out who the bad guy is will make this game more fun. Don’t look down on Villagers. Normally, an ordinary Villager will show extraordinary talents. It is said that every successful team will have a group of Villagers to support it. This is the truth!”
Aunt Sakurako said, “It sounds pretty fun. But it’s time for Mumu to sleep. It seems to be late. There is no clock or time on the mobile phone. I don’t know what time it is.”
Yamamoto Longsan said, “Auntie, didn’t you hear his words clearly? Time passes differently here than it does in the outside world. We got in at 7:30 pm. Outside, maybe only 10 seconds have passed by. Rest assured, it isn’t the time for Mumu to sleep.”
Mumu answered sweetly, “Mom, I’m not sleepy! Let me play for a while!”
Aunt Sakurako nodded and touched Mumu’s small forehead lovingly.
“Aunt Sakurako, it’s okay, you can believe me. It’s just a game. You will be fine and happy,” Long Xi said with a smile.
Her smile was as warm as a spring breeze, which could dispel the haze in people’s hearts.
Aunt Sakurako’s heart settled.
However, in the next second, a few horrible screams came to their ears.
Aunt Sakurako jumped up like a spring and asked in horror, “What happened?”
No one answered.
It was deadly silent indoors and outdoors.
After a while, Hu Lei whispered, “It seems that the Werewolves have started to kill players. We should stick together.”
Long Xi asked Hu Lei in a low voice, “Shall we go out to take a look?”
“No, I think it’s safer here. I’ll close the window,” Hu Lei said while moving to the ancient-styled window with his body bending down. He quickly reached out to take off the green bamboo supporting the green window and closed it.
Then, he moved away from the window at once.
Aunt Sakurako was trembling and could not stand still.
The little girl was scared and burst into crying. “Mom, I want to go home… I don’t want to play this game anymore…”
Yamamoto Longsan said, “She is too young to handle this kind of overly realistic killing game! It’s on me. I should not have asked them to join in just because I am addicted to this game! Auntie, Mumu, you should quit the game and have a rest. You can click the button to exit.”
Aunt Sakurako nodded and clicked the button on the phone and helped Mumu find this step.
Strangely, neither she nor Mumu faded out.
Long Xi said, “Can’t they quit? What’s going on?”
Yamamoto Longsan said, “I should help them try again. They might have clicked the wrong buttons.”
He took over Aunt Sakurako’s cell phone and clicked the button again.
Aunt Sakurako looked at him with a puzzled look, but she did not quit.
Hu Lei said, “I can try it.”
He clicked the button on his own phone.
The same situation happened!
Long Xi suddenly had an ominous feeling!
“Is this a trick from Qiuzi?”
At this moment, the head portrait of Judge flashed again.
