Ch.195 The Truth (1)

On this day, Qiao Moyu arrived at the production studio very early. She did not have anything to shoot at the time so she read her script for a while, which was when her phone made a sound. She picked it up to look at the notification.

It was a Weibo notification and the headline caught Qiao Moyu’s eyes.

[Xing Group has officially launched the process to acquire Qiao Group. On the same day, Qiao Zhuohai has been detained by the police on suspicion of murder]

Qiao Moyu was shocked and opened the article.

Inside it mentioned that the sister of Qiao Zhuohai’s mistress has provided evidence and accused Qiao Zhuohai of murder. The evidence pointed towards Qiao Zhuohai so the police have launched an official investigation on the case.

Qiao Ruohuan went everywhere on behalf of her father but the world was how it was just like so. When she was in power, everyone wanted a bit of it but now everyone pretended to not know her because her power was gone.

The Weibo photo showed Qiao Ruohuan at the Xing Group front desk. She had an anxious expression and her face was extremely frail. It seemed that she was waiting for Xing Yichen but the other side did not want to see her at all.

Qiao Moyu sighed, she did not feel happy or sad. Once she finished, her assistant happened to call to tell her, it was now her turn.

After the shoot today, they will go to another part of the country for a week as the scene in the cave will be shot there.

Before departure, Ye Peicheng began to officially take over the core of Ye Group’s business. However, he brought the documents home to assess the project core instead and did not go into the company building.

That night, while reading at home he received a call.

When he saw the display on the phone, Ye Peicheng’s expression instantly turned serious.

“Mister Ye, the investigation from that year is done.” The voice of a young man continued, “You should be able to guess who drugged you?”

“Was it my big brother?” Ye Peicheng asked.

“That’s right.” The man said, “But, you perhaps don’t know their motive.”

Ye Peicheng had always wanted to know the reasons for the events of that time. However, there was never a way to investigate as the original surveillance monitors had been dealt with so he really did not know who that girl was.

After that, he was more alert but nothing ever happened. It seemed that the person who drugged him had simply wanted him to sleep with a girl.

“Indeed, I do not know the motive. This matter has puzzled me for a very long time.” Ye Peicheng said calmly

“In fact, the person who your big brother arranged for you was not the person who broke into your room.” The man continued in a more chit chat tune, “The person who he arranged was an HIV carrier, so an AIDS patient. Ye Peicheng heard this and was unbelievably shocked.

The other side continued, “Because of the bite and the fact that the girl ran away it became complicated and things fell through. I reckon your big brother did not want to alert anyone so he never tried anything again. Nevertheless Mister Ye, your big brother truly wanted your life then!”

After the call, Ye Peicheng held the phone and did not speak for a long time.

In reality, he and Ye Peiqing had never been close. When he was small, Ye Peiqing had pushed him into a pond and it was their neighbour who saved him.

Afterwards, he always kept a distance with Ye Peiqing because he was three years older. A three year difference in strength was huge so Ye Peicheng always played in his room when his father was busy on a work trip.

When he was older, he studied abroad. While he was in university, Ye Peiqing took over the company. Ye Peicheng never valued fame and fortune so in order to avoid competition and for his mother’s wishes, he entered the entertainment circle.

Three years ago he returned home, Ye Peicheng remembered he had just received the Film Emperor award. Father Ye said his work was nearly done and he wanted him home to manage the company together with Ye Peiqing.

Shortly after that, he was drugged.

Ye Peicheng sat in his chair and did not move for a very long time.

Suddenly, his phone made a sound. It was a message from Qiao Moyu. He opened to find a photo of Luo Luo and Qiao Moyu.

All of a sudden, more than half the haze within his heart disappeared. He replied, “Little Moyu, are you packed?”

“Yes, it’s packed.” Qiao Moyu continued, “Also, the luggage for your house is also packed!”

She had already decided, they will move to Ye Peicheng’s villa once the shoot was over. Over there, it was more spacious, the security was great and there was even a specialised lawn for children to play in which was very suitable for Luo Luo’s growth.

“Yes.” Ye Peicheng replied, his tone was slightly heavy.

Qiao Moyu seemed to hear the difference in his voice and asked, “Ye-gege, did something happen? I seem to hear something in your voice.”

“Little Moyu, I am coming over.” Ye Peicheng stated.

Qiao Moyu thought for a bit, “Okay, I am putting Luo Luo to sleep right now.”

When she hung up, her heart was sure that something had happened to Ye Peicheng so she was a bit worried.
