Chapter 543 Poison
The hand clenched on her neck let her go after she said that. Xia Yu turned her body and supported herself up. She kept coughing with her body still bent over. She would have died if she had been held for two more minutes. That grisly feeling of approaching the status of death was haunting her so strongly that she kept quivering hard.
“Xia Yu, if I say I want Ruyi Tower, will you give it to me?” Chen Wenxuan looked at Xia Yu somberly. He didn’t intend to kill Xia Yu since its money that he wanted, so he let her go when Xia Yu looked near death.
But he knew Xia Yu too well that he was clear that she wanted to negotiate with him. After doing so many things, if he lost Xia Yu, his security blanket, could he still survive? Therefore, Chen Wenxuan directly made it impossible for Xia Yu to negotiate with him.
“Wenxuan, you changed. Just repent for what you do, or otherwise Uncle Chen would take a dim view of you.” Xia Yu had a mixed feeling of helplessness and misery over Chen Wenxuan’s unrepentant behavior.
“Don’t say that old man’s name! How duplicity he was? Preaching me for so long that I must become successful so that no one would bully me. That’s what he said and I remember every word. But he came over to you simply because he didn’t like Bao Na and even got crashed.” Chen Wenxuan was enraged at the name of his father mentioned by Xia Yu.
If his father hadn’t gone to visit Xia Yu, he might have gotten married with Bao Na. Then all the sequent misfortune would not have happened. What a coincidence.
“Wenxuan!” Xia Yu was appalled by that distorted face of Chen Wenxuan. It’s he who misunderstood his father rather than his father made a mistake encouraging him to become a talented person.
But Chen Wenxuan would not follow anything at this time, and Xia Yu knew that whatever she was to say would be useless.
“Stop gazing me that way! You were once smitten with me, weren’t you? For me, you turned on your parents and didn’t go back home for five years. Now you are with me, why aren’t you feeling any bliss?”
You knew it’s before, Xia Yu thought secretly. But she dared not say, fearing the mad man going crazy.
“Why are you silent? Too excited?” Chen Wenxuan threw Xia Yu on bed angrily.
In order not to answer him, Xia Yu pretended to cough. When a palm touched her back, Xia Yu’s entire body was stiff, and she didn’t dare to move, fearing that a little movement would irritate the crazy man behind her.
But that still annoyed him. Originally Chen Wenxuan wanted to have a good night with Xia Yu. But Xia Yu’s performance made him too annoyed, and suddenly had no passion.
“Go to that kid’s room! Don’t wanna see you anymore.” He caught Xia Yu’s arm, vulgarly dragged her to the door, opened the door, and threw her out of it.
She succeeded in escaping? Xia Yu heaved a long sigh of relief, rushed to Cheng Xi’s room, and locked the door. Still panicked, she dragged the sofa to prop against the door.
“Auntie, are you going to sleep with me?” Cheng Xi seemed very excited, because he was actually intimidated by night.
Xia Yu nodded, lifted the quilt, and laid down beside Cheng Xi. At first Xia Yu raised her ears to listen to the movement outside, but gradually her eyelids began to drop. After all, she didn’t sleep well for several nights.
When she was awake in dawn, Xia Yu opened her eyes and saw that the sofa was still against the door, so she was relieved.
Lifted the quilt, Xia Yu got out of bed, pushed the sofa back into place, and then went to the bathroom to wash.
Cheng Xi took out the jigsaw and prepared to play it. At this time, a knocking sound came from outside the door. He held the jigsaw to open the door and saw Chen Wenxuan standing at the door.
Seeing Chen Wenxuan, Cheng Xi was shocked. To be honest, he was really afraid of him. But he quickly raised his puzzle and said to Chen Wenxuan, “Uncle, shall we play the puzzle together?”
Chen Wenxuan looked at the child expressionlessly, his eyes were sullen. Suddenly he grabbed the jigsaw in the arms of the child, then threw it to the ground in hatred, and said coldly, “Don’t call me uncle, get away!”
Cheng Xi was so scared that his face turned pale, his body quivered, and his eyes were red.
Xia Yu hurried out, feeling infuriated. She hugged Cheng Xi and comforted him, “Uncle is in a bad mood. How about Auntie accompany you playing the puzzle?”
“Nonsense!” Chen Wenxuan turned and was about to leave angrily.
At the stairs, Brother Hu stopped him, “Mr. Chen, don’t tell me you didn’t have sex with her.”
He meant with Xia Yu. But seeing Xia Yu in pajama appearing in Cheng Xi’s room, he could not help but look at Chen Wenxuan disdainfully.
Pleasant to the eye but of no use. Was he impotent? If it were true, their original plan was total bullshit — get Xia Yu pregnant first and then ask for benefits from her father.
“I was not in the mood last night. Rest assured. She’s in our control.” Chen Wenxuan was so angry that he even wanted scratch Brother Hu’s eyes with his fingers, but he had to pretend not.
“Auntie, why he hates me? Am I not good?” The little kid said in distress, being hugged by Xia Yu. He had his mouth twitched and kept weeping.
Xia Yu kissed on his cheek dearly, “You are good, Cheng Xi. It’s his fault.”
“Auntie, he’s not as good as Uncle Shen. You will not marry him, will you?” Although he was little, he knew who treated Xia Yu sincerely.
“Sh!” Xia Yu hurried covering his mouth. She glanced around, finding no one’s there, so she relieved and let go of her hands.
The kid was still distressed after being comforted for a while and was not in the mood playing with puzzles, so Xia Yu took him to the beach and told him tales about the ocean. Gradually he was infatuated with the story and went out of that misery.
“Auntie, shall we go exploring in the woods?” Said the little guy jubilantly.
The woods was not safe, and there may be snakes and other things. But looking at the look of the child in front of her, Xia Yu really couldn’t bear to reject him. She looked at the monitor next to her, thinking with his protection, it would be safe for them to just ramble around the outside area of the woods. So she finally nodded.
The little guy happily ran to the woods, and Xia Yu followed closely. Although the person monitoring them frowned, he didn’t stop them.
“Auntie, there are coconuts. Look, bananas… Is this red fruit edible?”
As the man monitoring them had nothing to do, he was asked to help them carry a broccoli and some bananas in no time. He was so surprised to be seen as a servant that his mouth twitched.
Xia Yu lifted her mood seeing the scene. She burst into laughter seeing Cheng Xi still picking fruits. The kid was so fond of eating that he wanted try everything. Looking at the place he pointed where many red fruits were hanging on a tree quite like red dates, she didn’t know whether they were edible.
Suddenly a crazy idea popped out in her mind that even she herself was shocked. Why not pick these poisonous fruits to kill Chen Wenxuan?
But she quickly denied that idea. Though she hated him so much, she didn’t want to commit homicide.
However, it’s not excessive to torture him with the poison, was it? And they might make it fleeing. Xia Yu, in such an expectation, somehow put some fruits in her pocket when they were about to leave.
After wandering in the forest for a while, they came out back on the beach. Chen Xi seemed to be happy after having some bananas.
Back in the villa, they didn’t see Chen Wenxuan in the living room, guessing he might be staying in the study upstairs, which was a good chance.
Xia Yu started to prepare the lunch while Cheng Xi was playing with building blocks in the living room.
“Why are you cooking? We have servants.” Chen Wenxuan stood on the stairs and said aloof.
Xia Yu looked back at him and said, “Their cooking is not palatable for me, so I will cook some of my favourite dishes.”
“That Filipino maid really can’t cook. Xia Yu is a super renowned cook so just let her cook.” Brother Hu aside also didn’t want to eat what that maid did so he agreed with Xia Yu.
“Take your course!” Chen Wenxuan said briefly, turned back into the bedroom and slapped the door close.
“Miss Xia, cook a crab for me, a braised one.” Brother Hu ordered.
“OK!” Xia Yu got into the kitchen, took those red fruits out of her pocket, looked cautiously into the living room, and found Brother Hu and his fellows weren’t looking at her.
Xia Yu took a deep breath, washed the fruits, then Xia Yu took a deep breath, washed the fruit, then cut it with a fruit knife, licked it with the tip of her tongue, and found it had a sense of paralysis with slightly sour and sweet.
After slicing, she mashed them up in a juicer and put away for later use. Since Brother Hu said he wanted crab, she picked some big and fat ones and killed them
It was till the noon for lunch that Chen Wenxuan got downstairs, together with Brother Hu. His complexion was terrible and looked offish, as if he wanted to savagely killed someone.
It seemed that they had a bitter quarrel while Xia Yu was cooking. Otherwise he would not look like that. Seated opposite to him, Xia Yu felt a stroke of chill climb up to her so that she quivered with heart furiously.
Xia Yu was afraid that they would fall out at that time, which would threaten Cheng Xi and herself. She was terrified by the thought during the course of the meal.
Brother Hu tortured Chen Wenxuan with his monstrous eyes, whereas Chen Wenxuan was doing the same thing to Xia Yu silently. Xia Yu was terribly terrified as if a sword were hanging over her head and was about to fall at some time.
Xia Yu was craving to know about what he was thinking but she couldn’t find out. Nothing was even harder than to read that mad man’s mind which was probably obscure even to himself. She was deeming him as a man with mental disorder.
Silently She picked up a crab and started to remove its shell without uttering a word. Then she put some crab mean in Cheng Xi’s bowl.
