Chapter 494 You Treat Shen Yan Unfairly

Xia Yu made a hum and said good morning to him. As they were grown-ups, they didn’t need to be awkward.

After they washed their faces and rinsed their mouths, Aunt Ma had cleaned up the sitting room roughly, but the smell of alcohol still remained in the air although the window was open.

“Miss Xia, what happened to Young Master Yan last night? Why did he drink so much?” Aunt Ma knew that Shen Yan drank. She had wanted to call Xia Yu, but she saw Shen Yan calling her. So, Aunt Ma just waited for Xia Yu to come over before she went to sleep without worry.

“Last night his company had a party. But he was called away halfway. I don’t know what happened to him as well.” Xia Yu shook her head, looking at the back of Shen Yan.

Though Shen Yan didn’t tell her, she could guess it roughly. It must be his family who made him so angry.

Sometimes, Xia Yu also felt sympathy for Shen Yan. He left everything alone and ran about everywhere to collect evidences for Shen Mo while Shen Mo did not feel grateful to him at all and even played tricks in the dark. Xia Yu really admired Shen Yan’s leniency. She would have been devastated if it were her.

Hearing Xia Yu’s words, Aunt Ma dropped the topic because she dared not to poke her finger into his business. She turned to put the breakfast on the table quickly.

After breakfast, Shen Yan sent Xia Yu to work first. In the car, when he was concentrating on driving, he suddenly turned to look at Xia Yu and asked, “Did I say anything strange after I was drunk last night?”

“You said that you loved me very much and asked me not to leave you.” Last night, Shen Yan did say a lot to her, but Xia Yu didn’t want to mention it, so she just downplayed the key points and said something unimportant.

How considerate she was! Xia Yu stood up and walked outside. Coming to the door, she frowned and looked around, finding a silver-gray car beside the road, in which Secretary Yang was sitting and looking at Xia Yu with sharp eyes.

“Tell her that I have nothing to talk with her.” Seeing Secretary Yang’s expression in the eyes, Xia Yu suddenly changed her mind and decided not to go there with her.

Recalling Shen Yan’s condition last night, Xia Yu was sure that Old Madame was going to give her a warning or threaten and lure her today.

“Miss Xia, please don’t push me into a dilemma.” Seeing that Xia Yu was going to leave, Secretary Yang got out of the car in a hurry and tried to stop her. “I’m begging you. Old Madame will be disintegrated mentally if you don’t come to see her today.”

“Oh? So, I’m very important to her.” There was a sneer on Xia Yu’s lips.

“Miss Xia, our Old Madame is over eighty years old. Could you please understand the feelings of an octogenarian? Just go there with me.” Secretary Yang said politely and humbly to Xia Yu and didn’t dare to treat Xia Yu as arrogantly as before.

Perhaps, Xia Yu was moved by Secretary Yang’s pleading, or she really wanted to talk to Old Madame. She finally got into Secretary Yang’s car and was taken to a place by Secretary Yang soon.

There were only Xia Yu and Old Madame in the room. “Xiao Yu, have a seat.” Old Madame said.

Xia Yu sat down on the chair opposite Old Madame. She looked up at her and asked, “Old Madame, what did you ask me to come here for?”

“Old Madame? Xiao Yu, even though there are some misunderstandings between you and Shen Yan, we still have a good relationship with your family. How could you address me like this?” Old Madame was not satisfied with the way Xia Yu called her and frowned at once.

“Sorry, Granny. I was wrong.” Xia Yu apologized hurriedly.

Old Madame sighed and then said, “Fine. I know you have an opinion of me, thinking that I have a preference for Little Mo and neglect Little Yan. But as for him, you know what he has done even if I do not mention, and he has no regard for his family at all.”

Old Madame sighed several times in a row after saying that and looked much older, which made people feel sympathy for her.

But for the fact that she was familiar with Old Madame, Xia Yu would have been deeply moved by her. However, having worked in Shen Group for over three years, she knew Old Madame’s nature well.

So, she directly overlooked Old Madame’s expression and said, “Granny, since you have mentioned them in front of me frankly and sincerely, I should share my opinions, too. Yes, I do think you have a preference for Young Master Mo and treat Shen Yan unfairly.”

Old Madame began to be carried away by her emotions. As long as Xia Yu agreed, everything would be fine. As for the truth, she did not want to mention at all. Old Madame released Xia Yu’s hands and sat down on the side. “Xiao Yu, I will give you a reward if you compromise. Rest assured. I can give you anything you want.”

Old Madame took out a file package. “This is all my shares. As long as I sign to transfer it to Little Yan, he will become the largest shareholder as well as the President of the company.”
