Chapter 297 Two Void Stage Masters Had Died
Two figures were fighting in the sky, one holding a saber, the other a sword. They aroused blasts of wild winds. The surrounding air was roaring, mixed with seeming thunder.
At last, “crack”, the sword was broken and fell from the sky. Blood was spattered down to the ground.
The two figures in the sky separated. Each flew down on and stood at a corner of a building’s roof.
From Hong Luan’s red cuff blood was dropping. The sword in hand had been broken. At the broken end of the sword, blood was dropping too. In a short time, the roof under her feet had been dyed red.
“I beg you one thing.” She pleaded with Qin Hao.
“You say. But I may not agree.” answered Qin Hao coldly.
“Bury me together with him, will you?” She wanted to be buried together with Duan Lang.
Qin Hao slightly raised his eyebrows, “Honestly, I’m touched by your words. If you haven’t bullied my woman, I’ll agree. But now I won’t.”
“You, if you don’t agree, I’ll still…die…, die with him.” Words done, with a “boom”, she fell head-down from the roof and into the room where Duan Lang died.
It surprised Qin Hao. He immediately flew down into the room.
In the room, Shadow was lying on the bed, in a coma.
Qin Hao hurried over and held her up. On the way back he saw Hong Luan lying on Duan Lang’s body. They were so close to each other. Hong Luan’s hands were still gripping Duan Lang’s hands.
Something in Qin Hao’s heart seemed to be moved. He gave a sigh and didn’t separate them. Then he left while holding up Shadow.
As of now, two Void Stage masters-Duan Lang and Hong Luan, from Semi-Ancient Martial World, had died.
…
In the Semi-Ancient Martial World, in a cultivation cave of a hill in an antique and widely-covered mansion, an old man was doing closed-door cultivation by sitting on a stone bed where the air became visible due to its coldness.
He had been doing closed-door cultivation here for years, aiming to earn a place on the approaching Hero Rankings.
Today, he was about to break through, but he simply couldn’t calm down. His eyelids pulsed for times (seen usually as an omen of trouble). He felt uneasy but didn’t know why.
“Knock knock knock…”
At the moment, someone slightly knocked at the stone door.
The old man turned alert, looked angry. He had stipulated that no one shall disturb when he was cultivating, unless something serious happened. So, had anything serious happened?
Thinking of that, he shouted, “Come in.”
Words done, the stone door opened automatically. A long-faced man was anxiously standing with a little fear at the door.
“Father.” The long-faced man, middle-aged, hurried over and knelt down piously on the ground.
The old man seriously asked, “What happened? Say.”
“Father, Luan’er, she, she…” The middle-aged man raised his head and before he could finish his words, he had choked with sobs.
The old man stood up suddenly, “What happened to Luan’er? You tell me now!”
“Luan’er’s Life Jade Tube broke today. Waaa…” The middle-aged man couldn’t help wailing.
The old man staggered. His face paled visibly.
Life Jade Tube was made from special materials and unique methods. If you dropped someone’s blood in it when it’s done, it then would have some kind of connection with his or her life. If he or she died, the Jade Tube would be broken.
It was super rare and expensive. Only some big sects and families could have it. Moreover, only people of importance in those sects and families were able to use it, such as Hong Luan, a significant figure of Hong Family.
A Void Stage master in his or her thirties was rather rare in Semi-Ancient Martial World. Hong Luan, with terrific cultivation gifts, was seen as her family’s future and pillar. But now the pillar had died. How could they not be heart-broken? In addition, she was the only daughter of the head of Hong Family.
“You, you said what? Luan’er, she, she…”
The old man’s voice was shivering. He was stunned like been struck by lightning. After quite a while, he howled, “Who had killed my Luan’er? Say. I’ll rip him into pieces.”
“Father, Luan’er was killed after she had entered the urban world. I’ve sent people to investigate. Please, don’t be too sad and take care of yourself.” comforted the middle-aged man while letting tears run regardless. He was heart-broken. The future of Hong Family and his lovely daughter had died.
“Being killed after entered the urban world? How’s it possible? Is there in the urban world someone who can kill Void Stage masters?” asked angrily the old man. He simply couldn’t believe it.
“Father, I don’t believe it either. But Luan’er had gone for sure to the urban world. My people will figure it out.”
“No need. I’ll go myself. Martial Cultivators in the urban world? I’ll kill them all.” said the old man while grinding his teeth with a murderous look burning in eyes.
“Father, you can’t. The battle for the Hero Rankings is approaching. Didn’t you mean to earn a place on the Hero Rankings?”
The middle-aged man’s words reminded the old man. He calmed down with a cold complexion, terribly cold.
“Fine, I won’t go for now. After the battle for Hero Rankings, I’ll go to the urban world and kill them all. I’ll let them pay a much more serious price for killing my Luan’er. Ah-!” The howl was so powerful that it went all the way to high in the sky. The whole cave was shaking.
…
In the National Defense Hotel, Beiwei City, Li Zhanwu and others had returned. After Qin Hao had killed Duan Lang and Hong Luan, the riot of Shaxian Town had been solved once and for all.
Qin Hao came back too. But what confused others was, he was holding up a woman‒Shadow.
At the moment, he was treating Shadow in a room, hoping to wake her up as soon as possible.
Outside the room, Shi Bingying was standing at the door. She wanted to knock the door and went in. But she was afraid that she would disturb Qin Hao. So, she had to wait.
Somehow, she was rather anxious. She seemed to feel that Qin Hao and Shadow might have an affair. Although she had no evidence, she had her intuition as a woman.
Finally, after quite a while, Qin Hao came out.
“Hao, you… Has she recovered?” Shi Bingying tried to ask but then shifted the topic to Shadow.
Qin Hao nodded, “Um. She’s woken up. Ying, I want to tell you one thing. In fact, I… I…”
Seeing Qin Hao hem and haw, Shi Bingying was worried. She seemed to feel that something bad was going to happen. So far by now, she had never seen him talk like this.
“What’s up? Hao, is there something you can’t say?” Shi Bingying tried hard to calm down and softly said.
Sensing Shi Bingying’s gentleness, Qin Hao felt more guilty about it. But it had already happened, he had to say, sooner or later. So, after a little hesitation, he made his mind, “Ying, sorry, I have to tell you one thing. Actually I and… ”
“Qin Hao, Miss Shi, nice to see you. Thanks for having saved me.” interrupted Shadow, who suddenly pushed the door and came out. She did that for a reason. She didn’t want Qin Hao to say it.
“Oh, you’re welcome. It’s what we should do.” answered Qin Hao immediately.
“Qin Hao, finally, you came out.” At the moment, Li Zhanwu’s masculine voice came. Then he hurried over.
“Hi, Miss Shi, you’re here. Um? Miss Shadow, you’ve woken up. Good.” greeted Li Zhanwu.
Qin Hao gave Li Zhanwu a glare: Damn, why are you interrupting now? You’re really bad at choosing time, right?
“Old Li, what’s up?” asked Qin Hao discontentedly.
“It’s an urgent videoconferencing. People from higher level pointed you to attend. Come on. Just go with me. It won’t take long. I’m sorry two ladies. I have to borrow him for a while.” Li Zhanwu didn’t say much and took Qin Hao with him.
Qin Hao had to ask Shi Bingying to take care of Shadow, then went with Li Zhanwu to the conference room.
In the conference, people from higher level first gave high praise to the action’s success, then decided to award him some honors.
But Qin Hao wasn’t interested in all these. He ignored it simply. What he cared about was the topic of this conference. That was how to conquer the rest sects.
After the Shaxian Town event, countless elites of all sects had been killed or hurt. But those sects were still existing. Only by eliminating those sects could they be really conquered.
To solve this problem, the key was Qin Hao.
Therefore, when the conference was over, Li Zhanwu, carrying a flattering smile, immediately said to Qin Hao, “Qin Hao, we count on you for the rest action. Let me think. Well, the plan is, you first go back to Serenity House with Miss Shi. We’ll act when you came back. How is it?” asked Li Zhanwu. Seeing his attitude, others felt that Qin Hao seemed to be the real highest leader here, instead of Li Zhanwu.
Qin Hao was a little confused, “Go to Serenity House?”
Qin Hao’s reaction surprised Li Zhanwu, “What? Miss Shi hasn’t told you?”
“Tell what?” Qin Hao was only more confused.
“Alas, maybe she hasn’t had time to tell you. I’ll tell you.” Then, Li Zhanwu told him about the blood letter and what happened to Serenity House.
Hearing that, Qin Hao asked loudly, “How was it possible? Hadn’t Jinwu Sect’s Jin Yang been captured and sent to Uncle Ping? How could he have destroyed Serenity House?”
Li Zhanwu smiled bitterly, “How can I know? You have to investigate.”
“I have to investigate?” Qin Hao frowned deeply. It might take more than several days to investigate. He might need to go to Semi-Ancient Martial World. Thus, he might not come back recently. Then he would have no time to help Li Zhanwu conquer all those sects.
Li Zhanwu didn’t know yet that Qin Hao would leave in three months or fewer than that. He thought he still had time to wait for Qin Hao to come back. So, he was okay to let Qin Hao go to the Serenity House first.
“Old Li, I’ll stay out of conquering those sects. I’ll go to the Serenity House with Bingying. You can act now and attack those sects.”
Qin Hao’s words shocked Li Zhanwu a lot. He jumped immediately, “No, no way. Anyone can stay out of this but you.”
