Chapter 476: Chapter 470: Giving You a Group of People
It was then that Kay Lee realized, the little nest she had prepared for herself was right next to where Finn Lewis was living, and she hadn’t even known it for so long. Had she known, she would have moved there long ago. Finn had been quite busy recently but now that he had finished his duties, and with Kay’s move on her schedule, everything was aligning perfectly.
Truth be told, there wasn’t much to move. Just some of Kay’s daily clothes and her cosmetics. The furniture didn’t need to be moved at all and could be left as it was. The villa already came fully furnished and decorated, with housekeepers coming in to clean it now and then – the only difference was that Kay hadn’t lived there yet.
There were movers from a moving company, but even they weren’t used. Finn directed his T800 to do the job instead, not trusting anyone else. He put all of Kay’s clothes in the car and moved them over. Finn then returned with the two women.
The belongings would be sorted later by someone else. For now, the rooftop villas were occupied by three people – Finn, Kay Lee, and Sarah Wood. First, Sarah eagerly explored Kay’s villa, then turned her inspection onto Kay herself.
“What are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that?” Kay was a bit overwhelmed by Sarah’s gaze and couldn’t help but ask, whining a little.
“Kay, I have to say, you’ve really made it big, haven’t you? Owning your own place, and you didn’t even tell me! I can’t believe I’m not the first to see your new villa. Kay, you’ve really crossed the line, you know?” By the end of her rant, Sarah’s voice had escalated quite dramatically, her eyes glaring at Kay.
“Okay, I admit it was wrong. I just wanted to buy a home for my future, okay? Despite being in debt, I couldn’t bring myself to sell it. The interior and many other things in it were accumulated bit by bit over time, all handpicked by me. Isn’t that why I brought you here?” Kay tried to placate her quickly.
“It’s because your living arrangements were publicized, you both had no choice but to invite me over, right? Otherwise, who knows when you two would have sneaked off to live in paradise together, putting your romance before friendship.” Sarah said, looking hurt.
“Alright, I was wrong. Okay? I owe you one, you can ask for any favor you want, okay?” Kay replied, looking a bit helpless.
“You promise?” Sarah asked immediately.
“Yes, I promise. Just tell me, what do you want me to do?” Kay replied, sounding resigned.
The Flame Nation ushering in this series of events due to the chip had caused discontent in the American nation, attempting to flex their power. However, they had no idea that the Flame Nation’s power had already been boosted greatly by Finn.
Thus, they found themselves in an embarrassing situation.
At the same time, Finn’s alias, The Hustle Spot, played a big role in this plot, and Jack Lewis had been trying to establish contact with the Hustle Spot for a while now.
Finn hadn’t had the chance to finish watching the press conference. His phone rang before it was over. Showing the caller id to Sarah and Kay, he stepped away to answer the call. Jack Lewis was on the other end.
“Little brother, this situation is putting us in a tough spot.” Jack said as soon as Finn answered.
“Jack, I didn’t want it to be this way. This whole situation’s got nothing to do with me. I don’t have a say in it.” Finn answered him, sounding a bit helpless.
“Alright, we don’t have any other problems. We just wanted to discuss this issue with you. Next time, could you at least give us some notice beforehand? Otherwise, we’ll end up in a passive situation.” Jack didn’t say anything more, it wasn’t clear whether it was because he knew that Finn’s rank in The Hustle Spot wasn’t very high, or for some other reason.
“I’ll pass your message along. You guys don’t have a way to contact them directly?” Finn asked.
“Well, we probably should be talking to you about other things though, such as the location of the new CPU factory. Where do you plan to build it?” Jack then asked a new question.
Finn found it strange that Jack was asking him about this issue. Jack was an intelligence agent, and this sounded more like an economic matter.
“Why are you asking me about this, Jack? We’re still considering the construction site for the factory, it hasn’t been decided yet.” Finn responded after some thought.
“Well, of course, I’m the one asking because this factory is of strategic importance. I plan to gather a team to protect your factory.” Jack informed him.
“A team?” Finn asked, caught off guard by the term.
“Yes, a team. Your company will need security, right? Due to the high confidentiality level of the factory, our country has decided to send some security personnel to your factory. They are all professionals in this area. But don’t worry, they will completely obey your arrangements. These people are being assigned to prevent any security mishaps.” Jack explained after some thought.
Finn pondered over this for a while. Finn wasn’t surprised as it was only normal for this kind of a game-changing CPU manufacturer to be protected by the state. The applications for the Galaxy CPU were endless and in some ways, it was even more important to the nation than the Thunderhawk project. It could be used in the primary control systems of planes like Thunderhawk, missiles, nuclear warheads, and guidance chips of ballistic missiles. The higher the performance, the quicker the chips would calculate and discern their targets. Its manufacturing, therefore, was naturally considered a national secret and the factory producing them banned from selling it. That’s why it was only expected for this factory to be protected and why he had planned on using the T800 initially. But since Jack was offering, Finn couldn’t refuse. There was no use in doing so.
If the government didn’t send people to such a factory, then that would be truly strange. Even if they didn’t on the surface, they certainly would behind-the-scenes. One could find countless such instances in movies. Finn was not surprised. Moreover, Finn believed, the fact that Jack had called meant that he also intended to inform Finn about this situation.
