Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Ruby Green Kidnaps the Child

“What’s the matter?” Brandon Piers walked in through the door.

“Em… The young master seems to be particularly fond of Miss Green.” Kelly helplessly watched plump Abigail cuddling the young master.

Brandon Piers slightly furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes fell on Abigail, then subconsciously moved away, “Let me do it.”

As he said this, Brandon Piers stepped forward to take his son, but the little angel nestled quietly in Abigail’s arms instantly turned into a little devil, crying loud enough to scare the heavens and shake the earth as soon as he was in Brandon’s arms.

Abigail’s heart ached. She quickly took him back, and the little darling immediately stopped crying, continuing to nuzzle against Abigail.

“What… What should we do?” Kelly asked with difficulty.

Brandon Piers hadn’t encountered this situation before. Although the little one had caused a fuss when he first arrived, he had never clung to or relied on anyone like this.

“How about I pacify him to sleep first, and then leave?” As long as Abigail didn’t get too close to him, she could ignore her involuntary longing. But now, having nursed this gentle little life and feeling his wholehearted reliance on her for the first time, Abigail found that she couldn’t bear to leave.

“Mm.” Brandon Piers nodded, that was the only thing they could do now.

Abigail secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but just then, the sound of Ruby Green’s voice came from outside, “Excuse me, is the baby in there? I just heard him crying.”

“Young master, Miss Ruby Green wants to see the child.” Pullan reported.

“Come in.” Brandon Piers looked at Abigail, who was holding the baby, and spoke.

Rose Taylor supported Ruby Green as they walked in, and the first thing they saw was the extraordinarily handsome Brandon Piers. Ruby Green’s eyes were full of tenderness, “Mr. Piers, I just heard the baby crying. What happened? Although Abigail is a medical student, she is young and inexperienced, so please don’t blame her.”

She immediately put the blame on Abigail as soon as she came in.

“I don’t blame her.” Brandon Piers casually looked at the heavily made-up woman in front of him.

Sensing Brandon’s indifference, Ruby Green showed a trace of sadness on her face, “Mr. Piers, as for me…”

“Did you come here to see the child or not?” Brandon kindly reminded the woman in front of him. She entered the room under the pretext of being concerned about the baby, but she hadn’t even bothered to look at him.

Ruby Green suddenly tensed, the left leg that she had preemptively removed the cast from in order to look good was trembling with pain. Realizing her mistake, she hurriedly looked at the child, only to find Abigail holding him while looking at her sarcastically.

A surge of anger shot through Ruby Green’s brain, “Abigail, why are you holding the child? What would you do if you fell and injured him because of how clumsy you are? Give him to me.”

“Sister, your leg isn’t healed yet, so it might not be a good idea,” Abigail said, gazing at Ruby’s left leg.

Her tone was plain, but Ruby Green heard the provocation, her voice sharply rising, “You…” She was interrupted by a pull from Rose Taylor, suddenly crossing back to reality, her voice became pitiful again, “Mr. Piers, although I injured my leg out of nervousness about having a baby, after all, he’s my child, I really want to hold him…”

Ruby Green purposely emphasized that she gave birth to the child.

“Give him to her.” Brandon Piers didn’t think the woman in front of him really loved this child, otherwise, she wouldn’t have sent him to the Piers family the moment he was born.

But he kind of wanted to see if the little one really only wanted to be held by Abigail.

Having received permission, Ruby Green was secretly delighted, her eyes filled with tenderness. However, the little darling in Abigail’s arms wouldn’t give her face. After having been taken away twice, he was very alert and sensitive. One small hand clung to Abigail’s underarm, and the other clung to her windbreaker, denying all of Ruby Green’s attempts to take him away.

Ruby Green felt the probing gaze of Brandon Piers, feeling anxious. Just as she met the teasing gaze of Abigail, she turned her body to block the sight of Brandon Piers, then, with an embarrassed and annoyed look, forcibly took the child away.

“Wah wah wah…wah wah wah…”

The baby’s crying rang through the room again. In no time at all, his face turned red from suffocation. The sight scared Ruby Green into loosening her grip. As the child was about to fall, Abigail panicked, “Baby!”

Brandon’s face turned grim, he quickly caught the child and naturally placed him back into Abigail’s arms, “Pullan, escort these two away.”

“Mr. Piers, I…”

“Wah wah wah wah…” The cry continued, effectively drowning out Ruby Green’s voice.

Pullan walked over, “Ladies, please.”

Ruby Green clenched her teeth in secret, seething with hatred for Abigail.
