Chapter 52: Fifty-Two Chapters: Pill Room
As the bookstore and pharmacy were adjacent to each other, Su Jin and her companions decided to collect items from these two stores first.
After signing the contract, Su Jin had already received the keys to the bookstore. She waved the keys in front of the two others, and Nie Qing urged them excitedly to hurry. Su Jin smiled as she unlocked the door, and Lu Hao, familiar with the process, promptly locked the door, closed the windows, drew the curtains, and checked whether all the surveillance equipment was turned off.
Only then did Su Jin begin to confidently collect the items. Remembering that the study room in the Space seemed to lack bookshelves, she decided to take the entire shelving unit as well.
Nie Qing was continuously browsing the discs in the audiovisual section. He roughly counted and found there were at least a few thousand discs there. Unfortunately, some were in foreign languages he couldn’t understand, which made him realize he needed to hasten his study of modern Chinese characters.
Su Jin quickly finished collecting all the shelves in the room, including the speakers and an entire set of home theater equipment gifted by the manager, and even packed up the desks and chairs used for reading in the bookstore, hoping her family would still find time to read and learn books in the Apocalypse, and thus preserve human civilization.
After that, they headed to the pharmacy across the street, and just like before, Su Jin emptied all the pharmacy’s stock and shelves. Seeing these medicines, she suddenly remembered the Pill Room in the Space, having forgotten a very important issue due to time constraints before.
“Uncle Nie, are you familiar with alchemy?” Su Jin asked.
“I wouldn’t say I’m familiar, but I have some knowledge,” he replied. “What’s up, girl, are you interested in this too?” Although he had no practical experience in alchemy, he had read many Pill Scriptures during his seclusion in the mountains, so he had a bit of understanding.
“There is a Pill Room in the Lu Residence with many Pills, and I want to see which ones our family could use,” Su Jin said.
“Pill Room?” Nie Qing showed interest.
“Let’s talk more in the car after we finish here,” Su Jin, not wanting to waste time, planned to visit the grain and oil shop later.
“Xiao Jin, why don’t you take Master into the Pill Room while I drive to the grain and oil shop? You can stay inside for about three hours before coming out,” Lu Hao suggested, as it would take about 20 minutes to drive there, and all he needed to do was follow the navigation system.
“Sure, we should be back soon,” Su Jin agreed, realizing that more time now meant more preparedness.
After getting into the car, Su Jin entered the Space with Nie Qing; their car was tinted, so pedestrians couldn’t see inside.
Upon entering the Space, Nie Qing was stunned by the surroundings, as everything Su Jin had collected from the bookstore and grain and oil shop was piled right there on the stone steps of the entrance…
Su Jin then explained to him that the items she collected could only be accumulated there initially, and they could only be moved by thought after entering.
“Girl, maybe when the Spiritual Power inside the Space is sufficient, you might directly put things wherever you want,” Nie Qing analyzed. Although the Space’s Spiritual Power was abundant, he realized it wasn’t as dense as the last time they had entered.
Hearing this, Su Jin frowned, realizing they needed to gather some Crystal Cores or Beast Cores quickly.
Su Jin led Nie Qing into the Pill Room, which was still filled with neatly arranged Pills, just like when she first entered.
“Oh my goodness,” Nie Qing was so shocked by the sight that he could hardly speak.
“Uncle Nie, there are many Pills here, but I almost completely lack knowledge about them, and I can only roughly understand the Pill Scripture,” Su Jin regretted to say, hinting that studying these Pills might not be her forte.
Your man’s ancestor was indeed incredible; if these Pills were to be sold outside, each would be worth a fortune,”
“Too bad, these Pills cannot be taken outside the Space,” Su Jin shared the details from the Jade slip with Nie Qing.
Nie Qing nodded. Immortal Lu was not only highly skilled in cultivation but also profoundly understood human nature. If these Pills were introduced to the outside world, they might bring endless wealth and glory to people but would likely cause disaster. After all, these miraculous pills and wonderful medicines would make anyone extremely envious!
“Uncle Nie, both Lu Hao and I have tried the Marrow Cleansing Pills, and they work very well. You all should try them too,” Su Jin offered a bottle of Pills to Nie Qing.
“To think they are Marrow Cleansing Pills. These are Superior Pills! They can turn ordinary people into Innate Masters and can even improve the user’s potential and enhance their cultivation!”
Nie Qing held the medicine bottle as if he had found a treasure.
“Girl, this medicine is really good. Can I use one too?” Nie Qing’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Su Jin, even though he wasn’t a common man, it could still give him a boost.
“Of course, Uncle Nie, there are many pills here and we can’t take them out anyway. You are Lu Hao’s master, which makes you our family. From now on, don’t say such distant things. Moreover, I still need to ask you about these pills.”
“Wuwuwu, girl, you are really too good to me. I would be a cow or a horse in my next life just to repay you,”
Nie Qing was moved to tears, though he didn’t know when or where his next life would be; that’s just what they say in TV dramas.
Su Jin’s mouth twitched. She really didn’t need a cow or a horse.
“Uncle Nie, what about these types of pills? What are their functions?” Su Jin pointed to the shelf containing Foundation Building Pills, Vital Energy Pills, Vein Protecting Pills, and a series of other pills.
“These, they all consolidate one’s physique, clear one’s meridians, or heal injuries – miraculous pills and wonderful medicines indeed,”
It seemed that Immortal Lu really cared a lot about his descendants, Nie Qing thought, suddenly feeling an idea flitting through his mind, but he couldn’t grasp what exactly it was.
“Uncle Nie, there are so many types of pills here, I will need to ask you a lot in the future.” Seeing that Nie Qing really knew a lot about these pills, Su Jin immediately felt relieved. In the apocalypse, more knowledge meant more security.
Nie Qing no longer dwelt on the fleeting thought, and said earnestly, “Girl, I happen to understand these Pill Scriptures, may I stay here a while longer to read them?”
Nie Qing looked at the Pill Scriptures on the shelf; these were long-lost treasures. If the Ancestral Master could see these, he would be very happy.
Su Jin nodded, of course, it was okay. The Pill Scriptures contained many ancient characters that she couldn’t understand. If Nie Qing could help manage this place, it would save her a lot of effort.
Nie Qing was also interested, so it was a perfect match.
Afterward, Su Jin let Nie Qing pick a room in the Lu Residence for himself. She then moved some furniture and bedding there with her mind, including the TV they had moved with when she and Lu Hao moved houses. After setting everything up, she exited the Space, leaving Nie Qing alone in the Pill Room studying the pills and Pill Scriptures.
Su Jin suddenly appeared in the passenger seat, but it didn’t startle Lu Hao, although he didn’t expect her to come out so soon.
“Where’s the master?” Lu Hao asked.
“He seemed to really like those pills, so I let him stay inside to help interpret the Pill Scriptures,” Su Jin answered.
“That’s good. With his help, things will be much easier for us,”
“Yeah, yeah, it’s all thanks to you getting lost that time, otherwise we wouldn’t have met Uncle Nie,” Su Jin recalled the scene and still found it quite amusing.
“Me getting lost, and you’re happy about it?” Lu Hao held the steering wheel with one hand while he grabbed Su Jin’s creamy white hand with the other, kneading it. Hmm, it felt nice.
“No, not really, I was just glad we met your master,”
Su Jin remembered the embarrassing incident when she was caught badmouthing Lu Hao in the Space, and she felt awkward about it.
“Hmm, explain it to me tonight,” Lu Hao said, looking straight ahead without changing his expression.
Su Jin shuddered: Explain what now?!!∑(゚Д゚ノ)ノ
