1710 Resolution (2)
Chi Shuyan took Gu Yunzheng to the building where Yuan Yuan lived. When he asked her about Qi Zhenbai, she replied absent-mindedly, “We’re not dating.” Gu Yunzheng had just heaved a sigh of relief, when Master Chi continued, “We’ve already registered our marriage. I’ll invite you to the wedding banquet later!”
Gu Yunzheng was rendered speechless and stupefied by her words. His expression was complicated and he couldn’t say anything else. If they were just dating, he could still persuade her to break up with the man as soon as possible, but they were already married. Gu Yunzheng could only swallow the words he wanted to say.
When Gu Yunzheng came back to his senses, he realized that he had followed Master Chi into a rather familiar building. After all, he had a deep impression of this place it was where something happened to the young lady surnamed Chai in the elevator last time. He had even come here to look at her body. Thinking of the evil energy he had sensed two days ago, the figure of a familiar woman flashed through Gu Yunzheng’s mind: It was Yuan Yuan, who had lived with the deceased surnamed Chai.
Back then, Jiang Mingguang had sought him out, but it wasn’t good for Gu Yunzheng to intervene in this case halfway. Besides, with Master Chi around, Gu Yunzheng felt that this matter would definitely be resolved quickly. He didn’t plan to snatch credit from Master Chi; who would have thought he would be fated to be involved in this matter again.
Gu Yunzheng had sensed an extremely cold and abnormal evil energy in this neighborhood. He didn’t know if this evil energy had anything to do with Jiang Mingguang and the others.
Gu Yunzheng had a lot of questions in his heart and wanted to ask Master Chi, but in the end, he obediently shut up. Seeing how calm Master Chi was, he guessed that she already knew something, so he might as well follow her first.
Soon, the two took the elevator to the floor of Yuan Yuan’s apartment. As soon as Gu Yunzheng stepped out of the elevator, he keenly sensed the abnormality of the magnetic field on this floor. Not only that, there was an inexplicable coldness in the hallway outside the elevator that sent a chill down his spine. The temperature was too different here.
Gu Yunzheng took out the compass with a solemn face. The compass didn’t move, but his intuition told him that there was something wrong with this building floor.
Master Chi didn’t stop walking, and Gu Yunzheng just followed her until they stopped in front of an apartment with an electronic lock on the door. Gu Yunzheng couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Master Chi, whose apartment is this? Why are we here now?”
“Just call me Fellow Daoist like before!” Although Chi Shuyan was used to hearing others call her Master, she immediately protested when Gu Yunzheng addressed her the same way.
Gu Yunzheng still wanted to ask who this apartment belonged to and why she was here today, but he saw Master Chi No, Fellow Daoist Chi enter the password expressionlessly, and the door opened with a ding.
Seeing how she seemed to know what to do, Gu Yunzheng thought that she was returning to her own place. He wanted to investigate the source of the evil energy in this neighborhood, not be a guest. He was about to find an excuse to part ways, but when Fellow Daoist Chi pushed the door open, an extremely cold and gloomy energy swept over the two of them. Gu Yunzheng shuddered violently. He had felt that the long hallway outside the elevator just now was too cold, but it was even colder here. Gu Yunzheng got goosebumps all over his body. Not only that, the compass that had been motionless in his hand earlier started spinning wildly as soon as the door opened. Gu Yunzheng’s face changed drastically and turned ashen. “This isn’t right. It feels like a dead person lives here.”
Chi Shuyan already knew what Yuan Yuan was like, so she wasn’t surprised. She hummed in acknowledgment, and the two went in together. After they entered, Chi Shuyan’s face didn’t change, but Gu Yunzheng’s expression changed again.
Gu Yunzheng was also a capable person. He was a genuine national talent who was very knowledgeable and who had some unique insights into feng shui.
First of all, the layout of this apartment wasn’t good at all. There was no ‘living door,’ but ‘dead doors’ were everywhere, which was why he said that it felt like a dead person lived here.
Not only that, thick yin energy permeated the place; it suppressed the life force here to the point that there was basically none at all.
Gu Yunzheng walked to the only window in the living room and opened it. The trees that were everywhere outside looked very much like locust trees, which attracted yin energy. The trees weren’t tall enough to reach this level, but the building next door was only a short distance away and blocked almost all of the light, which made everything look very dark and sinister. In short, Gu Yunzheng had a very bad impression of this building.
Although Chi Shuyan didn’t have as deep an understanding of feng shui as Gu Yunzheng, she could still discern some of it from the layout of this apartment. She wasn’t surprised that Yuan Yuan would choose a place with such poor lighting. Wasn’t it for raising some ‘thing’?
Yuan Yuan had probably blindly listened to that ‘thing’ for the sake of achieving her own goal, and didn’t know the consequences. If she did, she would have left a ‘living door’ for herself in this apartment.
She probably thought that as long as Yang Ji and the others died, she would be able to fulfill her wish. She didn’t know that after they died, she would be next. Chi Shuyan had been guessing before, but looking at the layout of this apartment now, she was almost certain that if Yang Ji and the others had really died, Yuan Yuan wouldn’t have it easy either.
Chi Shuyan didn’t have the slightest sympathy for Yuan Yuan, this selfish woman who harmed others and herself. For her to be able to kill so many people because of jealousy, it could be seen that her heart was already black.
Chi Shuyan could only open the doors one by one to find Yuan Yuan’s room. On the side, Gu Yunzheng was even more curious about who this place belonged to.
He was about to ask, but when Shuyan kicked open the door to the room in the very middle, the compass in his hand spun like crazy. At the same time, the sharp cries of a child could be heard, followed by the muffled and strange sound of a woman coughing hoarsely.
At that moment, there was a click, and the compass needle suddenly broke in two.
Gu Yunzheng was stunned, then his face grew even grimmer. When Fellow Daoist Chi stepped through the door, Gu Yunzheng couldn’t care less about his compass and hurriedly stepped forward to grab her wrist and stop her. Who would have thought that he couldn’t even touch the corner of Fellow Daoist Chi’s clothes before his vision turned black. When he opened his eyes again, he saw that he had unknowingly entered an unfamiliar wilderness. Thinking of the abnormality he had just encountered, Gu Yunzheng was anxious and hurriedly called out a few times, “Fellow Daoist Chi? Fellow Daoist Chi?”
