Chapter 101 To Suddenly Throw down a Duel Challenge (Part 2)
Zheng Xiaoguang thought to herself, “Maybe everyone has two sides, and in this game, Tong Xiangyang is always the awkward and stubborn Dogs.”
After her failed attempt to stop Landscape Painter, she gave Bluegreen-Clad a call.
“It’s really Tong Xiangyang,” she said helplessly.
Bluegreen-Clad chuckled and said, “Oh, just as I’ve expected, it’s your admirer.”
“Why aren’t you angry?” asked Zheng Xiaoguang.
“Why should I be angry when he likes you and you refuse him?” Bluegreen-Clad sighed and continued, ‘It looks like that you’re such a catch. I have to be extra careful from now on.”
“Huh? You’re still in the mood to tease me. What should we do now?” Zheng Xiaoguang became very anxious upon hearing the teasing tone of Bluegreen-Clad.
“I’ve accepted his challenge,” replied Bluegreen-Clad.
“What?” Zheng Xiaoguang frowned. “Why did you accept it? It’s obviously unfair.”
Upon noticing that she was somewhat worried, Bluegreen-Clad said in a calm and comforting tone, “Just rest assured.”
“How can I rest assured when watching him, a level-103 magician equipped with a level-85 purple outfit fighting against a level-110 magician whose equipment was at level 110, full star rank and full magical stone rank?” thought Zheng Xiaoguang, worriedly. She did not voice her thought as she did not want him to feel discouraged and stressed out.
She took a deep breath and said, “I don’t care much about the result of this duel, no matter you win or lose. But I want to tell you, Bluegreen-Clad. If you quit the game I’ll quit the game too. I’ll stay with you forever.”
She liked only him no matter whether he was a god-like player or not. She liked him so much that she would rather take the risk of continuing this long-distance relationship with him than start a stable relationship with Tong Xiangyang.
There was no reason. She just knew that she wanted only him.
After a moment of silence, Bluegreen-Clad said calmly and assertively, “I won’t lose or let anyone else take you away from me. Trust me, Xiaoguang.”
After comforting Zheng Xiaoguang, he hung up the phone and shifted his attention to the game again. He received a Private Chat message from Landscape Painter: I’m waiting for you in the ring. Come to fight me quickly.
He sent back only one word: Okay.
One minute later, when Bluegreen-Clad came to the ring in the main city, Landscape Painter was indeed waiting for him in the ring. At this moment, the ring was surrounded by many exctied players.
[Public Chat] Onlooker 1: Bluegreen-Clad is a real man. He dares to come under such unfavorable conditions.
[Public Chat] Onlooker 2: So what? He’s predestined to lose no matter how brave he is.
[Public Chat] Onlooker 3: Save the crap. Start fighting now. I’m still waiting to buy tickets.
In Shiny Sky, a duel was a one-on-one PK instance, which allowed other players to buy tickets and watch the fight. In order to ensure high-quality live streaming for the instance, Shiny Sky allowed only a limited number of players to watch the fight.
The duel between Bluegreen-Clad and Landscape Painter attracted wide attention, so many people were waiting to snatch up tickets.
[Private Chat] Landscape Painter: It’s not too late for you to regret now. As long as you divorce Flowing Light, you don’t have to leave the game.
Upon seeing this message, Bluegreen-Clad could not help but curl his lips. He typed rapidly to reply: No one can make me regret in this game, Mr. Tong.
Tong Xiangyang was not surprised to know that Bluegreen-Clad knew who he was. He decided to show his cards.
[Private Chat] Landscape Painter: It’s I who met Xiaoguang first. Since the opening of this server, I’ve been in the same regular team with her. If you hadn’t come between us, Xiaoguang would’ve never joined the League of Strong Families. You’re the third wheel.
[Private Chat] Bluegreen-Clad: I don’t think that it’s up to you to decide whether I’m a third wheel.
In the meantime, he thought, “If love is assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis, why do we have to strive for it? Well, you knew her before me, but it was I who managed to get her first.”
[Private Chat] Landscape Painter: You know what. I hate guys like you the most. Do you still think that you’re a god-like player who tops the power ranking of Watery South? Without those titles, she would’ve never married you in the first place.
Bluegreen-Clad could not deny this. If he had not been a god-like player of Watery South and the gang boss of the League of Strong Families, he would have not been able to marry Flowing Light before. Meanwhile, he could tell that Tong Xiangyang did not know why Flowing Light married him.
He found it somewhat hilarious. Tong Xiangyang said that he liked Xiaoguang, but he obviously knew little about her.
[Private Chat] Bluegreen-Clad: Since you’ve decided to solve this problem by fighting a duel, please don’t talk so much nonsense.
[Private Chat] Landscape Painter: As you dare to come here, I have to say that you’re not a coward. But anyway, I have to defeat you today and take Xiaoguang back.
The original owner of the account Landscape Painter was a professional online game player. He had quit Shiny Sky after the launching of its rebirth program. Tong Xiangyang had bought this account from the professional player when he knew that Zheng Xiaoguang was Flowing Light.
At first, he just intended to use this account to chase after Zheng Xiaoguang, but she did not give him any chance. As such, he decided to use this account to fight a duel with Bluegreen-Clad to send him away.
Upon seeing Bluegreen-Clad’s determination, he clicked to apply for a PK. Bluegreen-Clad readily accepted this challenge, and a PK announcement was sent out automatically by the system to inform everyone. Tickets for the PK were sold out within just one minute.
Five minutes later, the system allowed the PK to begin.
Because of his absolute superiority, Tong Xiangyang underestimated Bluegreen-Clad in the beginning. Soon engouh, he realized that Bluegreen-Clad who had topped the power ranking of the server before had amazingly good PK skills.
In the past, Tong Xiangyang had thought that a PK between two players in the same occupation was absolutely predictable because they knew each others’ skills, strengths and weaknesses very well and the only differences were their levels and equipment.
He firmly believed that in such a battle, the one who was better equipped would win.
Unfortunately, Bluegreen-Clad showed him that a PK was more about skills no matter what occupation your opponent was in.
At the beginning of the PK, Bluegreen-Clad launched a magical attack on him, which consumed a quarter of his blood. It was a Critical Damage. Upon seeing that, he realized that Bluegreen-Clad and his master had different ways of forging their equipment. His master added offensive magics to his weapons and necklace, but Bluegreen-Clad probably added Critical Damage magic stones to his equipment.
Tong Xiangyang came to realize that Bluegreen-Clad was a tough opponent. What happened next verified his judgment.
Compared to players in the other occupations, a magician had to spend a longer time warming up before using a magical skill. He or she could reduce the warm-up time on the skills by gaining a higher level, but no matter how high his or her level was, there was still a warm-up time. Once he or she got interrupted by another player during the warm-up, his or her skill would be stopped and cooled down.
Bluegreen-Clad seemed to have precisely remembered every skill’s effect, warm-up time and cool-down time and combinations of the skills. He kept launching attacks and often made it impossible for Tong Xiangyang to fight back.
One and a half minutes after the beginning of the PK, Tong Xiangyang who held absolute advantage consumed only two-thirds of Bluegreen-Clad’s blood.
