Chapter 418 A Street Sweeper in the Clinic
There was no contact person on the phone screen, only a number.
Jiang Hao asked coldly, “Who is it?”
Han Wei’s voice was trembling. “I… don’t know. I really don’t.”
Jiang Hao handed the cell phone to Han Wei. “Pick up the call.”
Ning Tao reminded him. “If you say even a word wrong, I will no longer hold back my dog.”
The Howling Celestial Dog’s canine mouth emitted a threatening snarl. “Growl…”
“I… I won’t say anything wrong. I will say whatever you ask me to.”
“Pick up the call like you normally do,” Ning Tao said. He glanced at the Howling Celestial Dog and it stopped its growls.
Beep, beep, beep… beep, beep, beep…
Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao also held their breaths. Jiang Hao swiped up the reception panel and touched the hands-free button.
Han Wei took a deep breath. “Who is it?”
The voice of a woman emerged from the cell phone. “Why did you leave the old folks’ home so suddenly today and ask for us to meet?”
Han Wei said, “Sister Hou, I miss you.”
“Is there anyone with you?”
Han Wei immediately became nervous. “No… no one. I’m alone.”
“Nothing happened, right?” The tone of that woman was indifferent, but sounded quite suspicious.
Han Wei said, “Nothing happened. I just miss you.”
“Very well then, I have something to talk to you about too. Come to Diecui Villa in Gu’an. We’ll talk after we meet.”
Han Wei said, “I will come right away.”
That woman hung up the call.
Ning Tao asked, “Is it that woman Hou Meiling?”
Han Wei nodded. “Yes, it’s her.”
Jiang Hao took out her cell phone and prepared to call, but Ning Tao shook his head at her. He knew Jiang Hao was trying to check the caller’s whereabouts, but what they must do now was to prevent the police or special agents from joining their operation.
Jiang Hao shrugged at Ning Tao, and then kept her phone.
Ning Tao brought the folded sin of evil intention prescription pact to Han Wei together with a pen. “Sign now.”
Han Wei asked cautiously, “What’s written on it? May I read it?”
Ning Tao glanced at the Howling Celestial Dog.
The Howling Celestial Dog’s teeth sank deeper into Han Wei’s head, its canine mouth emitting a terrifying, chomping noise.
Han Wei no longer dared to hesitate. He immediately took up the pen and signed his name on the folded sin of evil intention prescription pact.
“Howling Celestial Dog, release him,” Ning Tao ordered.
Only then did the Howling Celestial Dog release its canine mouth on Han Wei’s head.
Ning Tao took out a porcelain vial from his medicine chest and poured out a Fine Primary Elixir, bringing it to Han Wei. “Take this. It will help you relax when you undergo treatment later.”
“What… what medicine is this?” Han Wei seemed somewhat nervous.
“Growl…” The Howling Celestial Dog’s throat emitted a threatening growl again.
Han Wei no longer dared to ask more. He opened his mouth and popped that Fine Primary Elixir in.
Ning Tao took out a Sacred Needle and inserted it into Han Wei’s head. He caused a concussion with his spiritual power and Han Wei immediately lapsed noiselessly into unconsciousness.
Ning Tao said, “You people wait for me here. I will deal with him and come back.”
Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao nodded. They could not help Ning Tao in the thing he was about to do.
Ning Tao tore out an ordinary prescription with a blood lock, opened the convenient door, and dragged Han Wei in.
In Sky Clinic, the place was wreathed in green smoke. A scowling face was showing on the good-evil tripod.
Ning Tao released his hands and a plume of green smoke gushed out, engulfing Han Wei instantly. Han Wei had already signed on the sin of evil intention prescription pact and taken a Fine Primary Elixir. The moment he entered, he triggered the treatment mechanism of the clinic.
Ning Tao was amidst the green smoke, but he could see nothing.
A few minutes later, the green smoke dissipated and Han Wei reappeared in its midst. There were no longer any wounds on his body but he was still unconscious.
Ning Tao summoned the state of looking in his eyes and inspected Han Wei. He soon came to a realization. Han Wei’s vertebral column was not yet destroyed and was still in very good condition. His brain was also functioning well. Its corresponding innate aura had not started to warm.
Ning Tao shifted his eyes to the good-evil tripod and gave a wry smile. “You’re the big boss here. You always make me do the dirty work.”
After receiving Sky Clinic, Ning Tao had recognized a pattern. The good-evil tripod would only heal patients, leaving Ning Tao to do all the dirty work to atone for their sins. The prescription for Han Wei stipulated that he must be made half-paralyzed and mentally incapacitated. He would have to wreck Han Wei’s vertebral column and brain. And those patients ordered to die would need to be inserted a fatal Sacred Needle after receiving treatment. Only then would he fulfill the atonement clause of the ledger of bamboo slips.
Ning Tao took out his Blade of the Solar Eclipse and a Sacred Needle, going over to Han Wei’s side. He raised his hand and inserted the needle into Han Wei’s head…
A few minutes later, Ning Tao dragged Han Wei out from the reopened convenient door.
Qing Zhui asked in surprise, “Why didn’t you kill him?”
Ning Tao casually dropped Han Wei on the floor tiles. “His sins aren’t deserving of death, so I can’t kill him. But his treatment clause stipulated that he must be made half-paralyzed and mentally incapacitated. It will be harder to bear than death.”
“Mentally incapacitated? He looks fine to me. Are you sure he is a mental retard?” Jiang Hao looked doubtfully at Han Wei lying on the floor.
“His sin of evil intention prescription pact has disappeared after I wrecked his spinal column. I’m quite sure I did right,” Ning Tao answered.
“Let me test him. If he remembers anything, we’ll be in trouble.” Jiang Hao walked over to Han Wei’s side and squatted down, pinching the acupoint under his nose with her fingers.
A few seconds later, Han Wei gave a snort and opened his eyes.
Jiang Hao released her hand and returned to Ning Tao’s side.
Ning Tao was actually not in the least afraid that Han Wei would remember anything, since Han Wei’s sin of evil intention prescription pact had disappeared. Everything related to the clinic would be wiped away in the man’s memory. The only thing which interested Ning Tao and which he was uncertain about was whether Han Wei had become a mental retard after Ning Tao’s Sacred Needle wrecked his brain. Also, he wanted to know the extent of the man’s mental disability. After all, it was the first time Ning Tao had performed such a “dark operation”; he had no prior experience to guide him.
The eyes of these three people and their dog all converged on Han Wei’s body.
Han Wei had wanted to crawl up, but he could not control his body below his waist. He tried several times but still failed.
Ning Tao’s heart was wondering, “Isn’t he now a retard? But the sin of evil intention prescription pact had clearly disappeared, so what’s wrong?”
But just when he thought about this, Han Wei suddenly pouted and opened his mouth, bursting into tears. “Mommy, mommy… I want my mommy…”
The three people and the dog were all flabbergasted, staring blankly.
Han Wei crawled towards Qing Zhui. He was crying, but soon started to grin. “Mommy, mommy… I want sweets… I want sweets…”
He reached out to grab Qing Zhui’s leg.
Qing Zhui frowned and immediately kicked out.
But Ning Tao grabbed Qing Zhui’s ankle. “Don’t. He has already atoned for his sins. If you hurt him, it will count as a sin.”
“Okay.” Qing Zhui assented and gently retracted her leg.
Only now did Ning Tao release her ankle. If Jiang Hao was not here, he could have held Qing Zhui’s ankle for an hour.
Even so, Jiang Hao rolled her eyes at Ning Tao, mumbling, “Lecher.”
Ning Tao pretended not to have heard. “Alright, we shall make a trip to Gu’an.”
Sometimes, men must be thick-skinned or they will not be able to do things, or find happiness.
One hour later, Ning Tao rode his electric motorbike God’s Will to a town in Gu’an. Jiang Hao was sitting sandwiched between Ning Tao and Qing Zhui, while the Howling Celestial Dog was crouching on the footrest.
God’s Will was heavily overloaded. Luckily, it was late at night. There were no pedestrians or vehicles on the road, otherwise they would have been the center of attention.
God’s Will drove out to a street in the town, continuing down a country road. After two kilometers, it was nearing the navigation destination. Luxurious villas appeared in the field of vision of the trio and the dog.
They had reached Diecui Villa. It was far larger than Dragon Gate Inn managed by Li Biao— more opulent and of a higher class.
Many limousines were parked in the open-air carpark by the side of the gate. There were many brightly illuminated rooms in Diecui Villa, and now and then, one could hear faint music in the background.
Ning Tao stopped his motorbike, opened the convenient door in the ordinary prescription, and then pushed God’s Will back to Sky Clinic. He had reached his destination and no longer needed the motorbike.
Upon his return, Ning Tao said, “Howling Celestial Dog, sneak in and explore the place. You’ve seen that woman’s photo; it will be best if you can find her.”
Whoosh!
The Howling Celestial Dog dashed into Diecui Villa, at a speed comparable to that of a hunting cheetah.
Ning Tao thought to himself, “The Howling Celestial Dog can do the dirty work and not incur sins of ill intention. I must improve its cultivation. It’s a cultivation dog, and secret cultivation methods of practitioners and demons as well as elixirs should help it.”
Now, it seemed some kind of destiny had caused the Heavenly Hound tripod to appear outside Sky Clinic, together with the rotten broken tripod and delicate perfumed tripod.
“Brother Ning, what should we do now? Should we wait for the Howling Celestial Dog’s investigation report, or go in?” Qing Zhui asked.
Ning Tao answered, “Whether the Howling Celestial Dog finds that woman, I must still go in and take a look. If it finds her, the two of you don’t get involved. Let the Howling Celestial Dog do the dirty work.”
“Let’s climb over the wall,” Jiang Hao said.
Ning Tao nodded and skirted the gate, walking to the side.
“Brother Ning, if you let the Howling Celestial Dog do all the dirty work, Sister Hao and I will have nothing to do, isn’t it?” Qing Zhui asked as she walked.
Ning Tao answered, “The Howling Celestial Dog can only deal with ordinary people. If we meet a tyrant like Bai Sheng, I must still depend on your help.”
Qing Zhui grinned. “Then I’m reassured. I’m afraid you will find me useless.”
Ning Tao smiled. “Let our family work together and manage the clinic well. Then we can become immortals together and visit the heavenly realm. Don’t you think that nice?”
“How would the heavenly realm look like?” Qing Zhui was both happy and curious.
Ning Tao shrugged his shoulders. He did not know himself.
Jiang Hao thought for a while. “Would it be like the TV series Journey to the West? Palatial edifices, ponds and peach gardens everywhere?”
Ning Tao smiled. “If that is true, we can pick heavenly peaches to eat.”
The family of three was chatting and they soon reached a wall by the side of Diecui Villa. Beside the wall was a wheat field. There were no lights and the entire place was shrouded in darkness.
“Right here. Let’s go in from here.” Whoosh! Ning Tao leaped and soared up the outer wall.
Qing Zhui followed behind him. clearing the wall easily in one bound.
Jiang Hao stepped back a few paces and sprinted forward. Her feet stepped in the wall crevices as her hands pressed down, her body surmounting the wall. Her horrific power and jumping ability would only appear when she turned into a demonized “female King Kong”. This wall was at least four meters high. She could not leap over it without doing a run-up.
The family of three leaped down into Diecui Villa.
