Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Spend Your Pocket Money as You Like
 

The two of them hit it off, and Lin Yi decided to go car shopping alone. After all, his wife was now pregnant, and it wasn’t too convenient for her to go anywhere with a big belly. Lingering around with him would only make her tired; it would be better for her to go home and rest well.

“By the way, honey, I’ve been thinking, we should both take a semester off from school. Nothing is more important than your health. Right now, you should just focus on nurturing our baby peacefully, and after your confinement period is over, we can go back to school. How does that sound?”

“Otherwise, you would have to go to class with a big belly every day, and resting in the dormitory is definitely not as comfortable as home. It’s also inconvenient for us to take care of you. As long as you and the baby’s comfort and safety are ensured, nothing else matters.”

These past few days, Lin Yi had been thinking about this and decided to consult Han Xuewei for her opinion first.

After hearing his thoughts, Han Xuewei was very puzzled and asked with a confused look, “Actually, I can just take a leave of absence myself. It’s convenient for you to take care of me at school!”

We’ll take a break together, and then we can graduate together. Later on, we can bring our babies to the graduation ceremony. How about that?”

Just at this moment, Lin Yi’s phone suddenly rang. Picking it up, he saw that it was a call from Aunt Wang.

“Ah Yi, I’d like to take some time off. I have to go home for a couple of days. My son and his fiancée are coming to see me. Will you and Vivi be alright? I’m still a bit worried. I will be back soon.”

Lin Yi said, “Aunt Wang, please go home without worrying! Vivi and I will definitely be fine. Stay a bit longer this time, we will need your help even more in the future.”

Aunt Wang: “Then take good care of Vivi. Have her pay more attention to her health. If you have any questions, just ask me anytime. I didn’t have time to cook today, so you two should grab something to eat before heading back!”

“Alright! Aunt Wang, have a safe trip!”

After finishing the call, Lin Yi kissed Han Xuewei’s forehead and said affectionately, “Honey, Aunt Wang has some family matters to attend to and needs to head back. It looks like I’ll be a full-time husband these days! I’ll take good care of you. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re satisfied with every meal! Let’s go buy some of your favorite food!”

Han Xuewei, linking arms with Lin Yi, nodded and said, “Mm! Let’s go grocery shopping!”

Life is just like that, a couple together through daily meals and seasons. For Lin Yi, there was nothing more blissful than this!

The young couple hailed a taxi and headed to the supermarket closest to their home. Thanks to living in the upscale Xiangcheng district, they had access to very well-appointed infrastructure nearby.

The supermarket and shopping centers near their home were among the best in Xiangcheng.

Since they usually didn’t do much grocery shopping, they just browsed casually, trying to pick out the freshest ingredients.

As soon as they entered the supermarket, they headed for the fresh meat section, determining what the main dish of the day would be before choosing the side dishes, and then they would buy some fruits and snacks.

Faced with an array of products, the two of them discussed their options.

“Here we have Ribeye steaks. I’ll cook steaks for you!” Lin Yi said as he picked out a few from the steak section.

“Anything is fine… after all, it’s you who’s cooking, hubby. I love whatever you make.” Han Xuewei revealed a serene smile.

After they picked the steaks, they chose a Jiangtuan fish, as Lin Yi planned to make a paper-wrapped fish for his wife that evening.

Having chosen some of Han Xuewei’s favorite side dishes, Lin Yi was ready to take his wife home.

But at this moment, Han Xuewei suddenly grabbed Lin Yi’s arm with some anticipation, “Wait, husband!”

“We’re already living in our new house, but there are still many necessities that we’re missing. Why don’t we go to the dedicated area and pick out some common household items? I want you to help me choose.”

Lin Yi was slightly puzzled after hearing this, thinking to himself that his parents had already purchased things like toothpaste and chopsticks a few days ago. Could there be anything else they were lacking?

Actually, Lin Yi didn’t really care what they bought. He was just curious about what Han Xuewei had said. Since he was idle anyway, he might as well go shopping with his wife.

Plus, as long as he could accompany his wife, he was willing to do anything.

Without giving it much thought, he readily agreed, “Sure! Then I’ll go with you and pick out some household items.”

And so, the two of them walked slowly towards the household section.

Han Xuewei immediately picked out a pair of slippers with a strange design and asked Lin Yi with a smile, “What do you think?”

Lin Yi found it strange, thinking they were men’s slippers! Why would she choose men’s slippers? Could it be because she was worried that her figure would change during the last few months of pregnancy and that regular slippers would be uncomfortable?

But that still didn’t justify buying men’s slippers directly! Wasn’t that a bit too exaggerated?

Just as Lin Yi was filled with doubts and about to ask.

He heard Han Xuemei say with a smile, “I think they look really nice, and you would look good wearing them!”

Lin Yi was taken aback for a moment and said, “Me wear them? But I already have slippers.”

Han Xuewei, however, was excited and continued enthusiastically, “Take a look at this pair. It’s suitable for both of us to wear. My taste isn’t bad, right? I want to wear the same as you, so we both have to match!”

When it came to couple items, Han Xuewei also had a whim to come and check them out. Of course, apart from slippers for daily use at home, they also had couple’s pajamas, mugs, and even hoodies for going out, among other things.

Indeed, it could further close the gap between them and make the young couple seem even more loving!

Plus, after their three babies were born, the family of five would also need matching outfits! Just thinking about it made Han Xuewei uncontrollably excited!

At this point, Lin Yi also understood his wife’s little idea, and of course, he was fully supportive of her suggestion!

Following that, Han Xuewei picked out another pair of slippers that looked rather pink and girly with a hint of light blue trim, asking, “Husband, I think this pair is so pretty! Plus, I really like pink with light blue.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she began to pout her lips, seemingly not quite satisfied.

Lin Yi was amused by this scene and let her choose as she pleased! In the end, he wasn’t particular, whatever his wife chose, he would use!

Indeed, using some couple items in life could greatly enhance their relationship.

“The pink series isn’t bad, at least I can accept it. If you really like it, then we’ll just wear this from now on!”

After hearing this, Han Xuewei looked at him in surprise and asked, “Ah? Husband, are you really willing to wear it?”
