Gu Chuyan hailed a taxi and headed straight for the Blue Plum Cafe.
The Blue Plum Cafe, located in the heart of S City, is said to have a substantial and influential owner whose café is frequented by those of noble stature and respected reputations.
“May I ask who you are?” The waiter approached Gu Chuyan as soon as he saw her.
“Gu Family,” Gu Chuyan replied.
The waiter paused, “You must be Ms. Gu’s younger sister, right? Please, come in.”
It seemed that Gu Miaoting had already sent word ahead. Gu Chuyan found it amusing that Gu Miaoting had become so important within the Gu family, simply from bearing their surname.
As Gu Chuyan walked into the café, she saw a bustling crowd. Gu Miaoting was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding her coffee and seemingly lost in thought.
“Why did you want to see me?” Gu Chuyan asked, cutting straight to the chase.
Upon hearing Chuyan’s voice, Gu Miaoting turned around gracefully, her black dress emphasizing her statuesque figure.
“I’m sorry about this morning! For your troubles, let me make it up to you with a coffee,” Gu Miaoting stepped forward, grasping Gu Chuyan’s wrist.
Gu Chuyan instinctively withdrew, stepping back.
“Don’t touch me,” she said softly, her eyes cold.
Instead of getting angry, Gu Miaoting lowered her head towards her.
“You know something? Last night, I intended to make her taste something exciting, but you couldn’t hold your liquor and ran off in a drunken stupor,” Gu Miaoting whispered in Gu Chuyan’s ear.
Her words struck Gu Chuyan like a hammer.
She knew that her drink had been tampered with last night and had guessed that Gu Miaoting was behind it! But she never expected Gu Miaoting’s scheme to play out the way it did!
“Slap.” Gu Chuyan raised her hand and slapped Gu Miaoting in the face!
She grabbed Gu Miaoting’s hair and shoved her aside. Gu Miaoting didn’t resist and smirked.
“Gu Chuyan, you brought this on yourself,” Gu Miaoting said softly. Gu Chuyan could not understand what she meant.
Seeing the commotion, a waiter ran over to try and intervene.
Unexpectedly, Gu Miaoting suddenly stood straight, grabbed Gu Chuyan’s hand, and shoved it towards the waiter. Gu Chuyan stumbled back. Gu Miaoting then pushed the waiter and kicked a coffee cup, causing it to roll towards the waiter’s feet.p>
“Ah!” The waiter stepped back, stepping on the coffee cup and leaning backwards.
No one expected that the floor-to-ceiling window Gu Miaoting had been looking out of was open, and the waiter fell out, plummeting from the 28th floor to his death.
“Gu Chuyan killed him,” Gu Miaoting screamed, pointing at Gu Chuyan.
Everything happened so fast that no one could see clearly, but everyone saw the waiter fall.
Now that Gu Miaoting was pointing at Gu Chuyan, naturally everyone assumed that it was Gu Chuyan who was responsible.
“Call the police.”
“It wasn’t me who pushed him, quick, save him!” Gu Chuyan’s legs gave out in fright. Nobody had expected the window to be open!
But in this situation, they needed to save the falling man first!
Gu Chuyan was flabbergasted. Even though it was Gu Miaoting who had pushed the waiter, why was she accusing her? And that coffee cup, it was obviously Gu Miaoting who had kicked it over!
This was a conspiracy! A premeditated plot! Gu Miaoting was attempting to utterly destroy her.
How cruel! Gu Chuyan looked up, staring at Gu Miaoting’s panicked face.
“Chuyan, go! Leave quickly, I’ll take the blame! Your father’s got influence, he will protect you! Don’t be afraid, everything will be fine.” Gu Miaoting’s voice was loud enough for everyone in the café to hear.
