Chapter 660: Biochemical Corps
After Vitaly set up a Magical Formation Spell to hide Dio’s embarrassing acts in the tent from the numerous wanderers, he sat in the immediate vicinity. Algernon Divine Branch was renowned, and none would dare to provoke them. But he still stayed near Dio’s tent as a precaution and guarded it carefully.
“I sacrificed my freedom and joined Algernon Divine Branch to get power. Is it worth it?” Vitaly wondered. As he observed the numerous carefree wanderers in the hall and listened to the shameful noises coming from the tent, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
A long time ago, he was also young, and had a group of brothers that traveled the world with him. Those were carefree and happy times. At that time, he was just an ordinary High-Level Deity, and his power was next to nothing in comparison to the numerous powerful experts. But he still had a lover and brothers that would share delights and hardships with him. Even though his power wasn’t adequate, he met every day merrily.
This continued until a certain day where everything changed. On that day, he traveled with his brothers and his girlfriend into a large mountain. His pretty girlfriend bustled like a diligent little bee and prepared a sumptuous lunch for him, while he and his brothers hunted a clouded leopard to have something new to eat. However, when they came back in great spirits with the clouded leopard, they saw a painful sight. His pretty and kindhearted girlfriend was pressed down on the ground by a beast, and a large number of powerful wanderers were in the vicinity.
When Vitaly saw this shocking sight, he rushed over there crazily and was followed closely by his few brothers, but they were facing many powerful wanderers and couldn’t withstand a single blow. He could only look on helplessly as his girlfriend was defiled and his few brothers were torn to shreds.
Vitaly was heavily injured by the numerous wanderers and was kicked off a cliff from unfathomable height. He managed to survive by mere luck, and from that moment onward his character changed greatly. He turned reticent and stooped to any means possible to get more power. He joined Algernon Divine Branch, which had ominous fame, and went through many hardships to become a Divine Duty Expert. He drew help from Algernon Divine Branch’s large influence to find his foes one by one before hacking them with a sword once every day. He tortured them slowly for several hundred years before he killed them.
After taking his revenge, Vitaly grew quite excited, but he also felt a deep sense of loss. His power was higher than before by manyfold, but he couldn’t get any close friends, and he also couldn’t get a pretty and kind girlfriend. He couldn’t relive those carefree days.
Only endless practice was left in his life, as well as the endless missions assigned to him by Algernon Divine Branch.
Thump!
The sound of indistinct footsteps closed in on Dio’s tent. Usually, the powerful and vigilant Vitaly would have noticed it, but he was caught in a painful recollection and was unaware of the imminent danger. He responded only when he detected peculiar Energy Ripples, but sadly it was too late.
A dazzling silver radiance flickered, and a large group of flying demons appeared in the hall. They didn’t utter a single word and rushed ferociously toward Algernon Divine Branch’s men. It was Dio’s tent which bore the brunt, and Vitaly, who was sitting on the ground, was instantly encircled by numerous flying demons.
At this critical juncture, Vitaly faced danger fearlessly and passed down an order before pulling out his sharp sword. “Protect the young master. Hurry up!” he shouted. As a cold light flickered, he hacked the dozen flying demons near him into two pieces. He wanted to rush quickly into Dio’s tent, but a surprising matter occurred. The flying demons, which were cut in two, stretched out their hands and held his legs, entangling him. They were followed at the rear by a large group of flying demons, which rushed ferociously. Soon after, consecutive explosions occurred, and a nauseating odor spread out, accompanied by thick black smoke.
One, two…
The groups of flying demons exploded consecutively and instantly gave rise to a terrifying airwave. They quickly destroyed the tent in the vicinity, and the naked Dio, as well as the pretty guard next to him, were turned into a bloody mess. Even the wanderers in the distance were sent flying from the explosion, and Vitaly, who bore the brunt of the explosion, vomited a mouthful of blood. Even though his power was high, he still sustained serious injuries because he was caught off guard. What was worse was that bubbles suddenly emerged out of his body after he inhaled the nauseating odor. His flesh started rotting quickly, and his consciousness turned muddled.
Self-exploding Godheads!
The flying demons were smeared with deadly poison and exploded consecutively like poison gas grenades under the remote control of the Corpse Wizard King. The explosion of the demons’ Godheads instantly released great power and gave rise to airwaves. Even God-Level Experts would be affected by this deadly poison. The main hall quickly descended into a panic because of the sudden appearance of the large number of flying demons and strange black smoke.
“The Black-Horned Demon launched a counterattack! Run away! Run away quickly!”
“Terry, brother Terry, run for it!”
…
The wanderers in the main hall were unaware of the real situation and retreated in panic. Even Algernon Divine Branch’s guards, who stood slightly far away, retreated instinctively. They had seen many flying demons in the way, but they had never seen strange demons who would detonate their Godheads without uttering a single word. This was why even people with great power didn’t dare to rush over there.
After the surprise attack succeeded and chaos arose, Yang Ling passed down an order decisively. “It’s now. Attack!” he shouted.
Sizzle!
The Death Ripples let out a sizzling noise and created many fine spatial fissures. They instantly entered Vitaly’s body and attacked his soul. Soon after, the Blood Angel Ophelia, the Burning Fire Elf King, and others pounced at the enemy. They drew help from the black smoke’s cover to rain attacks upon Vitaly.
Vitaly was already drenched with blood due to the chain of explosions, and his power and speed had dropped greatly because he was poisoned. His consciousness was also muddled, yet he still suffered the joint attacks of the Corpse Wizard King and his companions. He suffered greatly and instantly sustained serious injuries. He was a Third-Level Divine Duty Expert, but he was still resolute in the face of the ferocious attacks.
Ah!
Ophelia’s large blade struck Vitaly’s chest, and he couldn’t help but let out a groan. Vitaly waved his sharp blade and bore his pain as he rushed toward Dio, whose fate was unknown. His consciousness was muffled, but after the Corpse Wizard King and others attacked, he realized that this wasn’t related to the Black-Horned Demon. He understood that Algernon Divine Branch’s foes were the ones who had attacked them.
Algernon Divine Branch was quite powerful, but it had offended many hostile families in the past years, and those families included many great families with widespread influence and numerous peerless powerhouses. Vitaly’s situation was far from good, but he still didn’t forget his mission, and he tried to rush by force toward Dio. If he couldn’t do so, even if he survived this by luck, he wouldn’t be able to provide an acceptable explanation about what happened to Dio once he went back home.
Buzz!
Vitaly was quite swift, but a soft cry came from the air before he reached Ophelia, and this cry was accompanied by an intense murderous aura. A black blur rushed toward him from the distance, and gravity instantly turned higher. He felt like he had fallen into a swamp, and it was difficult for him to move.
When Vitaly saw Yang Ling, who appeared in front of him, his body shook, and he finally understood who their foe was. “You,” he said. “It’s your bunch.” However, his speed was greatly weakened by the Binding Space, and his head was chopped off by Yang Ling’s blade before he could cry for help or get out of the way.
Swoosh!
After he quickly killed Vitaly, who was the person with Dio who posed the greatest threat to him, Yang Ling absorbed his soul and took off his Dragon Head Ring. Soon after, Yang Ling gathered the remaining Flying Demons, the dying Dio, the Corpse Wizard King, and others into the Wizard Pagoda’s dimension. He drew help from the black smoke’s cover to teleport there, and the dozen flying demons left by him detonated their Godheads at the same time. They destroyed Vitaly’s corpse and the dying pretty guards. They erased all marks and traces.
Even if the smoke dissipated, the stunned wanderers wouldn’t be able to find any clues. They could only assume that it was the legendary Black-Horned Demon who had done this. No one would know that it was Yang Ling who had achieved this feat.
In the Wizard Pagoda’s dimension, the Giant Ape King poured a bucket of cold water on the dying Dio and tramped upon one of his ribs. Dio was awakened by this and looked at Yang Ling, who was near him. “You,” he said. “What do you want to do?” He quickly understood what had happened and was both pained and stunned. His heart sank, and he looked everywhere. He hoped to see Vitaly and his guards, but there weren’t any guards, only numerous bloodthirsty and crazy Magical Beasts.
“Hehehe. What do we want to do? What do you have to say about this? We have captured you and took you here. So, what will we do?” The Corpse Wizard King laughed and ordered two flying demons to raise Dio. He slapped Dio so strongly that he saw stars, and a distinct palm mark was left on his pale face.
When Dio discerned that his situation was far from good, he used his family’s prestige to intimidate Yang Ling’s team. “I’m… I’m the son of Algernon Divine Branch’s current master,” he said. “And if you kill me, Borgans, Battier, and other sirs won’t let you off the hook.”
“Hehe, this is a plane ruled by me,” the Corpse Wizard King laughed. “Even your Algernon Divine Lord can’t save your life, let alone Battier and Borgans.”
Dio wasn’t willing to admit anything, but his body was already shivering in fear. When Yang Ling saw this, he sneered coldly and cast a meaningful glance at the Giant Ape King next to him. The latter understood his intentions and started breaking Dio’s fingers one by one. He would make Dio understand why it is said that fingers are connected to the heart, and he would make him understand what was a fate worse than death.
“Tsk, tsk. This feeling is pretty good. More comfortable than sleeping with pretty female guards, isn’t it?” The Corpse Wizard King laughed loudly and looked at Dio’s genitals, which shrank until it was only three inches long. He had always been interested in how to make captives retain consciousness and suffer the highest pain possible, and he had studied this thoroughly.
“Ah… Please spare my life. Sir, spare my life.” Dio was in great pain, and he loudly begged for forgiveness. “Mr. Yang Ling, as long… as long as you spare my life, I will give you innumerable black crystals. I can also tell you the Demon Hall’s secret. I can give you anything you want.”
“Even if you die, I still have a way to learn all of your secrets,” Yang Ling said. He looked at Dio, who begged for forgiveness loudly, and looked at his repulsive face. Yang Ling finally vented his resentment. He had nearly been killed by this guy’s plots several times, and it was finally time to pay him back. He sneered coldly before putting his hand on Dio’s head, refining his soul before taking out his Godhead. Soon after, he left with the Corpse Wizard King and others. The numerous bloodthirsty and berserk Magical Beasts in the background rushed toward the spasming Dio and tore him to shreds.
