“That is right. It’s really right. There is a Wanderer Camp on the foot of the mountain.” The black-robed old man, Welkox, was quite excited. When the crowd followed his directions and looked over, they discovered several faintly visible tents on the foot of the mountain, and if they concentrated and listened carefully, they would still hear faint voices of people.
“Wanderer Camp?” The Sword God Gerald was quite prudent, and he held the sharp sword in his hands tightly.
“In all planes, many people will travel outside after practicing to a certain level, and they will wander outside all year long. There are a few Wandering Castles, but you may not even find one in every several hundred thousand years. However, there are many simple camps where Wanderers could rest temporarily or exchange info.” Richardson looked at the confused Yang Ling, Sword God Gerald, and others before he explained this slowly.
The Wanderers would travel and adventure everywhere, and they might sometimes stay in a single place for ten years, or even a hundred years. The Wandering Castles had great info networks, as well as rich resources, but they were usually far away, and one would spend a lot of time traveling back and forth between them. This was why the Wanderers started making camps in places that had many Wanderers, or in places where they traveled frequently. They made them to exchange info or replenish their supplies.
Basically, the Wanderer Camps could be divided into two types. The first was formed by people, and it was used to exchange info or get a supply. It didn’t have guards nor fixed buildings, and it was quite simple and crude. It was usually just an empty region. The other type was formed or protected by a certain powerhouse, and it had fixed buildings as well as guards. It could be said that the second type was in a sense a small Wandering Castle, and it had comprehensive facilities despite its small size.
“The Wandering Castles are all protected by apex experts, and some are even overseen by them personally. Personal fights are forbidden there, and nobody dares to act recklessly there. This is why one will be safe after entering them. Even Wanderer Camps of a certain scale are usually protected by a powerful faction, and one wouldn’t have to worry about safety in them, but…” Richardson looked at the indistinct tents on the foot of the mountain with a grave expression on his face. He said, “If you run into a Wanderer Camp formed by people, you must be careful, as anything may occur there.”
“That is right. Even though there are many Wanderers that just wanted to practice or travel, there are also many robbers and bandit-like scum among them. This is why you must be careful.” The black-robed old man, Welkox, instructed the crowd. He was the oldest Wanderer among the crowd, and he saw all kinds of accidents. His power wasn’t great, but he still had rich experience, greater even than Richardson, who traveled outside for innumerable years.
“Does this mean that people with inadequate power won’t dare to enter Wanderer Camps formed by people?” Yang Ling shook his head.
The various Planes, like the Life, Order, Chaos, and other Main Places weren’t like the Tailun Continent, which had thin Magical Element Power. They had innumerable experts. People with Sacred-Level or Domain-Level’s power were just weaklings there, and God-Level experts could be found everywhere among the Wanderers. Suffering a surprise attack of a group of God-Level Wanderers was worse than running into a group of God-Level Magical Beasts.
People were more dangerous and sinister than Magical Beasts!
“The Wanderer Camps formed by people aren’t safe, but they still aren’t so terrible.” Richardson chuckled. “As long as you don’t cause trouble, none will attack you rashly unless you seek death and expose the treasures in your possession.”
“That’s right. It’s fine to just be a little careful. Let’s go. Let’s go down and take a look.” The black-robed old man, Welkox, spoke as he rushed down. He showed the way to the crowd behind him and he was quickly followed by them.
Swoosh!
As the crowd traveled across the precipitous mountain, they became quicker the more they ran, and they quickly went from the mountain’s peak that was several thousand meters above sea level, to the plain on the foot of the mountain. They finally set foot on the Sunset Plains’ land, and they approached the Wanderer Camp.
Only several tents could be seen from the mountain’s peak because the tents were hidden by the forest, and it was only after they entered the camp and took a look at it that they discovered that this Wanderer Camp was too large and had many large tents. Some were built beneath large trees, some were built on the woods’ empty regions, while others were built atop the trees’ branches. They seemed chaotic and disorderly!
A simple wooden fence as tall as a human was built around the Wanderer Camp, and its topmost part was sharpened. It seemed quite decent, but none knew whether it was really able to obstruct the large groups of Magical Beasts in the Sunset Plains. The camp had just a simple and crude large gate that could accommodate 5 people walking shoulder to shoulder and it didn’t have arrow towers or any guards. It seemed like this was the Wanderer Camp formed by people mentioned by Richardson.
There were many people in the camp. Some were wiping their weapons, some were hiding sneakily in a corner to discuss some secret matters, while others basked lazily in the sun. But most of them were assembled together, shouting loudly. They formed a tight encirclement, and it seemed like they were observing something. When those people saw Yang Ling’s group, some just ignored them, while some cast several indifferent glances at them. None came over to question them or greet them. Everyone minded his own business!
“There is an empty region over there. Let’s go and set several tents there. We should first get an understanding of the current situation before setting off.” The black-robed old man, Welkox, had rich experience, and he quickly found dry ground. He instructed the numerous Wanderers to set up a camp quickly.
The Wanderer Camp was suitable for making inquiries or getting supplies, but, even though the crowd wanted to rush quickly into the Sunset Plains’ Wanderer Castle, they still weren’t too hasty. This camp formed by Wanderers was quite messy and wasn’t safe, but it had usually well-informed people, as well as people that were here to sell treasures stolen from other places. They might make unexpected gains if they took several tours here.
“Oh, my God! If they continue fighting, someone may die.”
“That is right. A Low-Level Deity is facing an apex High-Level Deity, and he’s obviously not a match for him.”
A deafening yell echoed out from among the crowd, and it was followed by several screams. Soon after, a husky man in black armor was thrown and he fell near Yang Ling and his companions. The man was heavily injured, and his body was drenched with blood, while he still had a deep palm’s print on his chest.
“If you don’t want to die, then take out the object. Or else…” A two-meter-tall, large, bald man spoke as he made his way through the crowd. He rushed out with large strides before he stepped heavily upon the husky man in black armor and broke several of his ribs. The man’s face was fierce-looking, and he carried a sharp axe with him. He had many bulging muscles, and it could be discerned with a glance that he was adept at close-quarter combat.
“I didn’t take it. I really didn’t take it. Sir, I really–” The husky man in black armor vomited a mouthful of blood and started begging for forgiveness loudly.
“Hehe, you didn’t take it?” The large, bald man sneered coldly and pulled back his right leg that stepped on the husky man in black armor. Soon after, he attacked him swiftly and left behind him a series of afterimages as he kicked the pitiful husky man in black armor into the air. After he had done so, he rushed swiftly toward the husky man that was still in mid-air and punched his chest. As a “cracking” sound echoed out, he broke the husky man’s heavy, black armor with a single strike.
One punch, two punches…
The large, bald man was sturdy, powerful, and swift. If Yang Ling hadn’t witnessed this with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed that a man could be so swift. His eyes contracted as he carefully observed every movement of the man.
Crack!
Muffled noise echoed ceaselessly. The husky man in black armor was already drenched with blood, and he quickly became a badly mutilated, bloody man. His ribs were crushed, his joints were dislocated, and his eyeballs almost came out of their sockets due to the beating. He was so pained that he curled up, and his limbs were spasming.
“I will question you for the last time. Where is the object? You dared to steal even our young master’s stuff and you are really courting death.” The large bald man pulled the dying, husky man by his hair and raised him up. “I’m not interested in the Godhead of a Low-Level Deity, but if you are determined to seek death, then I don’t mind digging it out and feeding it to the dogs.”
The large, bald man was murderous-looking, and he pulled up the husky man in black armor’s hair with his left hand while he penetrated the man’s chest with his right hand. He wore a sinister smile across his face, and he stretched his hand inside slowly. He held tightly the Godhead within the man’s body.
Did he plan to crush the man’s Godhead?
When the crowd saw this brutal sight and discerned the tragedy that would shortly occur, many of them took pleasure in the man’s misfortune, and some people that desired chaos started jeering. But most people furrowed their brows, and this was the case even for Yang Ling, while the kindhearted Chief Elven Priestess couldn’t bear watching this further and she turned her head around.
“Sir, sir, please spare my life. I’m Emika and I can take a vow with the King of Darkness’s name. I really-I really didn’t take it.” The husky man in black armor was dying, and he begged for forgiveness.
“Hehe, taking a vow with the King of Darkness’s name?” The large, bald man gnashed his teeth, and an intense, murderous aura emanated from him as if he was a Death God. “What our clan hates the most is the King of Darkness’ subordinates, and we will kill every one of them upon sighting them. If you belonged to a different Divine Branch, I might have spared your life after you handed over the object, but now…”
The large, bald man possessed great power, and he spoke as he gripped tightly the Godhead of the husky man in black armor. In an instant, the dying, husky man in black armor let out miserable screams, and all of his body’s muscles started shivering due to pain. This was an intense pain that reached even his soul!
The Death Plane’s King of Darkness?
Yang Ling furrowed his brows and recalled the supporter of the Great Dark Elder and the Dark Cavalry Commander. After he heard the large, bald man’s words, he realized that it seemed like he was an enemy of the King of Darkness. The man stated that he would kill every one of the King of Darkness’s surroundings upon seeing them, and he was really bold and arrogant. He either possessed shockingly great power, or he came from a faction greater than the King of Darkness’s faction.
When the crowd discerned that the bloody and brutal large bald man would crash the Godhead of the husky man in black armor, some Wanderers couldn’t bear observing this in silence, and they planned to step forward to reconcile them. But, after they heard what the large, bald man had just said, they grew hesitant.
This was a faction that looked down even on the King of Darkness, and ordinary people couldn’t afford to provoke it.
