Chapter 348: Chapter 336: A Strike to the Target
What’s going on?
What’s going on?
What’s going on?
These few words echoed nonstop in Matthew’s mind. Regrettably, he was not a Huaxia man. In such a situation, he couldn’t even let out a “fuck” and could only look at the pockmarks on the wall, speechless and choked up.
He had so much to say, yet he could not speak. His face turned red as he nearly roared, “F**K!”
[Holy shit!]
[Fuck!]
[Oh my God!]
Various expletives flooded the live broadcast room. Not just the average viewers, even many military enthusiasts were shocked by the scene in front of them.
To fire bullets with one’s bare hands, without relying on guns, is that even possible?
Bi Fang showed everyone with his actions that it was indeed possible!
The sound of gunfire mixed with the pelting explosions of buckshot didn’t attract much attention, but Bi Fang used it to roughly estimate the timing, accuracy, and power.
Much better than expected, the accuracy was not as poor as he had imagined.
Some viewers, besides yelling “holy shit,” thought further. Since bullets could be fired, did that mean they no longer had to fear those people?
At least on the surface, the gap in strength wasn’t that big anymore.
[Can we arm-wrestle with those guys now?]
[I think so!]
[Charge, motherfuckers!]
[Take all those bastards down!]
But unexpectedly, Bi Fang shook his head. He didn’t create this makeshift launcher to fight back, but to intimidate.
Although there were bullet holes in the wall, they were shallow. Bullets fired this way had too little power. Even if a bullet was launched, due to the lack of confinement by a gun barrel, there was no sustained acceleration or spinning flight, so the power was far less than that of a bullet shot from a firearm.
Moreover, the recoil from the explosion, even though lessened by wrapping with cloth, still nearly made the weapon slip from Bi Fang’s hand when it reached him.
And the launch speed was way too slow; from ignition to firing, it took at least ten seconds.
The only effect it could have was to scare the enemy, making them think they also had firearms. Having firearms or not in a battle were totally different scenarios. As long as he could create a doubt in the enemy’s mind, Bi Fang’s effort wouldn’t have been in vain.
After hearing Bi Fang’s explanation, the audience was greatly disappointed, but they also gained a little confidence. At least compared to just now, when they were completely unarmed, they now had some green gear with a built-in fear effect.
During the explanation, Bi Fang and Matthew had already run to the stairwell.
At this moment, Matthew’s heart was about to jump out of his chest, fearing that as soon as he stuck his head out, he would be shot in the head.
Fortunately, that situation didn’t arise. When Bi Fang listened closely by the wall, the thug running in the lead hadn’t come upstairs yet.
“Good chance!”
Bi Fang dragged Matthew and ran upstairs with him. If they could avoid a direct confrontation, they should; that was Bi Fang’s principle.
But luck wasn’t always on their side. When they reached the third floor, two figures caused Matthew’s pupils to shrink in shock.
It was the men in green and black.
Damn it, how could they forget about them!
The viewers almost pissed themselves in fear; even horror movies weren’t this thrilling!
Luckily, at that moment, both men had their backs turned to Bi Fang and hadn’t noticed them.
The two retreated back into the stairwell, and Matthew was sweating profusely. They had almost been discovered. He quickly looked at Bi Fang, “What do we do?”
Bi Fang lifted his hand to give Matthew a flashlight, while gripping a steel pipe, he lit his lighter again, and started burning the base of a bullet.
“I’ll count to three, and then we’re going to rush out together, and you’ll use the flashlight to shine on them, aim for their eyes, got it?”
With the proverbial wolves in front and tigers behind, if they waited for the two upstairs to leave, they would likely be caught up by the people downstairs, facing enemies on both sides, Bi Fang had no choice but to break out directly.
Matthew took the flashlight. Although he was nervous, the past few minutes with Bi Fang made him understand that professional matters should be left to professionals; he didn’t ask why, but simply nodded.
Having often been to war zones, it was impossible for him to have poor mental fortitude, but having never been directly involved, Matthew’s palms were now all sweaty.
It seemed as if there were footsteps behind him, or perhaps it was just the sound of his own heartbeat; the flame in the dark was particularly conspicuous.
One second, two seconds, three seconds.
Ten seconds passed in a flash.
“Three, two, one, now!”
At Bi Fang’s low shout, Matthew shuddered and almost stumbled as he charged out.
At that moment, Bi Fang and Matthew hadn’t turned on their flashlights. Two dark shadows darted out, catching the attention of the man in black and the man in green. But before they could even demand what was happening, a blinding light suddenly swept across them.
The abrupt change from pitch darkness to blinding light prevented their eyes from adapting in time. By the time they managed to adjust to the brightness, the assailant with the sawed-off shotgun would have turned them into a bloody mess.
But Bi Fang wasn’t about to give them that chance. He focused all his energy on this strike, his muscles flexing, pulling on his skeleton with machine-like precision as he lifted his hand to aim. There was no scope, no trigger, all he had was a “gun barrel”!
How could it be just a simple scare?
“Bang!”
Flames burst forth from the mouth of the steel pipe, the metal projectile tightly confined within, whistling as it left the barrel.
Blood splattered, gunshots and screams nearly simultaneous.
The man in green felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder, then lost consciousness. The man in black was startled even more.
They had thought they were up against an ordinary challenger, yet they had encountered a tough nut!
Although their vision was still blurry, realizing the other party had a gun too, the man in black immediately dove to the side.
He and the man in green had once been conscripted into the army, and although they’d later escaped, they still received some professional training and were among the organization’s elite, often partnering up to search for goods.
They had consistently been on the advantageous side, never imagining today would be when they slipped up.
There were no doctors here; if the gunshot wound wasn’t treated properly, his partner might be done for!
The man in green, hit by the bullet, reacted a beat too slow, but his blurred vision started to clear a bit. Humans are, after all, remarkably adaptable animals.
But when he saw there were only two of them, especially when he spotted what one of them was holding, he couldn’t help but be stunned.
What was that thing?
A gun?
No, that’s just a steel pipe, isn’t it?
He was hit by that?
Feeling the pain in his shoulder, the man in green hardly had time for more emotions. Realizing the other might not be able to “fire” a second shot anytime soon, he raised his pistol to fight back. But as he made his move, he saw a man on the opposite side take a step forward, swiftly pulling something from his waistband and throwing it with force.
Immediately after, the other shoulder of the man in green was struck with severe pain.
It seemed he was hit in a critical spot; he couldn’t apply strength to his whole arm, his grip loosened, and the pistol fell to the ground, fortunately without going off.
The man in green staggered back two steps, his eyes widening as he stared at his shoulder, the sight before him beyond his comprehension.
What was that thing on his shoulder?
A steel spike?
