Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Bar Owner_1
Julius Reed’s departure didn’t catch Lucan Davenport’s attention.
After all, the fewer the people in a bar, the better.
Having acquaintances around, on the contrary, hindered the fun.
“Sir, who are you looking for?”
When Julius Reed approached the door of an office at the bar, a few security guards stepped forward to stop him.
“I’m looking for your manager,” he said.
Julius Reed pointed at the office of the general manager, “Go and inform them.”
“What a joke!”
The security guards said unhappily, “Are you here to cause trouble? Kid, don’t be too arrogant!”
In recent years, there had been many troublemakers at the Paper Drunk Golden Tavern, and its authority was no longer as fearsome as it used to be.
It seemed that since three years ago, the authority of the Paper Drunk Golden Tavern was already gone, relying solely on its past glory to deter current troublemakers.
After all, no one knew how long their patience would last.
Nor did anyone dare to provoke the final bottom line of the Paper Drunk Golden Tavern.
“I said, I want to see your manager!” Julius Reed frowned, “At least report my request, okay? Whether I’m causing trouble or not, won’t your manager know once they come out? What if I am indeed an honored guest, wouldn’t you be ruining a big deal for your manager? Think about the consequences, young man!”
He placed particular emphasis on the words “young man” when he spoke.
Julius Reed didn’t like people who behaved without any sense of protocol.
When he himself was the Young Master of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, he always met with people who personally wanted to see him.
Of course, if the other party didn’t have anything important, he usually killed them.
Having killed many people, naturally only those with serious matters came looking for him.
“Young man? Look at yourself, you’re even younger than me! Kid, are you asking for trouble? I’m telling you, go sober up outside if you’re drunk. Don’t cause a scene here! If our manager finds out about this, you might not be able to walk away on both legs!”
The security guard looked down disdainfully, considering Julius Reed to be just another drunkard in the bar.
Many people acted this way after drinking too much, losing self-awareness and thinking they were somebody important, as if they owned the whole world.
But in the end, they faced a beating to bring them back to reality.
“You say I’m young?”
Julius Reed pointed to his face, which appeared to be in his twenties, and smirked, “I am more than enough to be your ancestor. Just go in and inform them, don’t force me to take action!”
Here, he didn’t want to fight.
They were all his own people, and fighting would harm the goodwill among them.
“Who are you cursing!”
The security guard flared up suddenly and walked up to Julius Reed, “Who’s ancestor do you say you are? Kid, don’t get too arrogant! Apologize right now, otherwise, when our manager comes out, don’t expect to walk out of here standing!”
Although the Paper Drunk Golden Tavern had kept a low profile these recent years, it was all under the manager’s instructions to avoid as much conflict as possible with others.
They were told to give way when possible and not to show off too much.
Even though the guards were puzzled about the general manager’s decision, they strictly obeyed.
Used to strutting around, they actually found it a little uncomfortable to be so restrained now.
“What if I’m someone your manager wants to see?” Julius Reed asked with his hands clasped behind his back, a look of helplessness on his face.
Having lived for over ten thousand years, acting as their ancestor wouldn’t be too far-fetched, right?
By generations, perhaps it could even be true!
But if his own descendants were really like this, it might be better to snuff them out.
“If you’re someone our manager wants to see! Heh, I’ll eat shit standing on my head! You should look at yourself, that sorry state of yours. If you were some rich second generation, it might still be believable! That fake watch you’re wearing is so obviously knock-off. And these shoes, those clothes, did you get them from a street stall?”
The guard shook his head, “It’s not that we’re looking down on you, but with your outfit, it’s ridiculous to claim you know our manager!”
“Exactly! With millions of people in Five-river Province, if everyone came looking for our manager insisting on a meeting, wouldn’t it be chaos?”
“Brother, you might not know this, but the most powerful person in Paper Drunk Golden Tavern is the general manager. Even the boss behind the scenes has to listen to our general manager!”
The security guards exchanged words, all of them looking down on Julius Reed, with a few immediately coming over to forcefully remove him.
“Don’t believe me?”
Julius Reed raised an eyebrow and asked.
This watch of his cost over five million, and the clothes on his body, all provided by Quella Radcliffe, were worth tens of millions.
Although to him, this amount of money was no different from mere numbers.
As long as he was comfortable, that was what mattered.
But to be looked down upon like this, inevitably made Julius Reed a little unhappy.
“What’s all the noise?”
Just then, the door to the general manager’s office opened, and a middle-aged man walked out.
“Manager! Someone wants to see you, but we’re sending him away!”
“Exactly, just a beggar claiming to see you! I think he’s had too much to drink and is here to cause trouble!”
“Don’t worry, Manager, we’ll handle him right now!”
The security guards, realizing they had disturbed the manager, immediately became fearful.
If the manager got angry, they would all lose their jobs, and none of them would end up well.
The only thing they could do now was to deal with Julius Reed!
“Get out!”
The security guards marched over, ready to push and shove.
“St… st… stop!”
The moment he saw Julius Reed, the manager’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
He wanted to kneel, but then he thought that if Julius Reed didn’t want to reveal his identity, doing so would be a mistake.
It had been three years since he last saw the man before him.
“Manager, do you want to teach them a lesson yourself? Don’t worry, we’ll do it, so you don’t dirty your hands!”
“Exactly! People like him need a beating to learn; otherwise, they might come back and cause trouble at our tavern again!”
“Watch this, Manager, I’ll beat this jerk so badly his own family won’t recognize him!”
The security guards, seeing the manager stopping them, thought he wanted to handle the matter himself.
But this put the manager in a very awkward position; the person before him was someone he absolutely couldn’t afford to offend!
Yet, seeing Julius Reed’s calm demeanor, he felt at a loss for what to do.
“I hear your manager holds more power than the boss?”
With his hands clasped behind his back, Julius Reed asked with a smirk.
“Of course!”
The guard said proudly: “All the decisions at Paper Drunk Golden involve the manager. The boss doesn’t understand these things. The bar’s been established for so many years, and the boss hasn’t shown his face once; it’s all been the manager running it here.”
“Although the boss is rich, our manager has talent! Plus, in Five-river Province, who doesn’t know our Paper Drunk Golden’s Finn Carmichael? Go out and ask around; who knows who the owner of Paper Drunk Golden is?”
“To be honest, I’ve been working here three years and I really don’t know who the boss is!”
The security guards were all kissing up, hoping to use this opportunity to curry favor with Finn Carmichael.
But what they failed to notice was that Finn Carmichael was already sweating profusely, his face pale.
“With that said, your manager is quite impressive indeed!”
As soon as Julius Reed finished speaking, Finn Carmichael immediately leaned against the wall, supporting himself to prevent from falling to the ground.
“No, that’s not the case, the boss is ultimately the boss! I’m just an employee; I have no real power, everything depends on the boss.”
Finn Carmichael said, gasping for breath.
“Aw, come on, I think you should be the one running the tavern!” Julius Reed grinned broadly, directly causing Finn Carmichael to collapse to the floor in fright.
