Chapter 507: Chapter 513: Don’t Be Too Selfish! (Third Update)
“Found you!”
As soon as Yang Zhen’s words fell, he suddenly stomped hard on the ground. The entire ground seemed to explode, and a terrifying wave of earth rushed in a direction in the Black Pool.
“What…what is this?”
Everyone was shocked at the terrifying scene before them.
With Yang Zhen’s stomp, the earth wave came to life like a dragon — rocks and soil were flying everywhere, and shockwaves were rolling out.
The Black Pool suddenly reacted as if it had been hit by something, and a roar echoed throughout. A terrifying wave of water burst out from the Black Pool and transformed into a roaring beast, similar to a fierce tiger in mid-air, rushing towards the earth wave.
Boom——!
The ground shook. The two collided, and wild shockwaves rushed out in all directions, scaring everyone into retreating quickly.
Nobody knew if Yang Zhen had triggered the Black Pool’s restriction, but those black shockwaves, surprisingly, broke through the farthest distance, even enveloping the foremost practitioner of the Tribulation Crossing Period.
The practitioner, caught up in the wild shockwaves, suddenly cried out in pain, lying on the ground and holding his head while screaming. His face turned red, and the veins on his body all bulged out.
“Not good, everyone, retreat quickly!” Elder Qian roared, and in just three leaps, he reached the hysterical practitioner and pulled him out.
Yang Zhen smirked and glanced at the beast made of water waves that had burst apart, saying, “You fell for it!”
As soon as he finished speaking, a much smaller earth wave suddenly exploded from within the original earth wave, rushing in its previous direction.
People stared dumbstruck, speechless.
“Damn, did Yang Zhen actually trick the True Essence beast?”
“Otherwise how could we get in? I must say, he tricked it so well and smartly.”
“This… to think there’s such a way to break the formation, I’ve truly learned something new. Young friend Yang sure has endless tricks.”
Amidst the murmurs of the crowd, the small earth wave controlled by Yang Zhen crashed into the Black Pool with a bang. The entire Black Pool suddenly seemed to be fatally hit, setting off huge waves.
At the same time, the surroundings suddenly changed – black shockwaves descended from the heavens, enveloping the originally lush environment.
When the black shockwave disappeared, everyone gasped.
It was gloomy, solemn, deathly silent, and an extremely ancient and desolate aura naturally arose, presenting to everyone a place like a mass grave.
Countless skeletal remains piled up into mountains, evidently all people who’d died nearby the Black Pool.
A wave of foul, moldy smells came head-on, causing quite a few people to turn around and retch uncontrollably.
“So this is the true face of the Black Pool?”
Everyone was taken aback, especially the practitioners who had followed Elder Qian out of the Sealed Land and into here with Yang Zhen — all their faces turned pale. Thinking about their numerous previous visits to this dreadful place sent shivers down their spines.
“Now is the time!” Yang Zhen suddenly said in a deep voice, “Those who want to enter the Black Pool, follow me!”
Yang Zhen grabbed the fleeing cat and with a boom, threw it into the Black Pool.
“Damn, dude, are you trying to kill me… damn it, glug, glug…”
Seeing Yang Zhen throw the cat in first, the group of people around immediately rushed towards the Black Pool. Even Lu Tianwei didn’t pass up this opportunity and rushed in.
Yang Zhen took a deep breath, leapt, and followed the others into the Black Pool.
Darkness, endless darkness, along with a wave of dead silence, enveloped Yang Zhen.
After entering the Black Pool, Yang Zhen didn’t expect that there would be so many negative emotions inside.
It was clear that these negative emotions were left behind by those who had died in the Black Pool or by the sealed race below.
This was the root cause of why even a powerful person like Lu Qiju would go mad. It’s just that the Black Pool’s restrictions had already been temporarily broken by Yang Zhen, and the impact of these negative emotions was no longer as terrifying as before.
Yang Zhen didn’t know how much time had passed. When the sound of splashing water near his ears disappeared, and his whole body almost lost all sensation, with a loud plop, he fell into a vast space.
A cave heaven!
This was a cave heaven that formed a world of its own, an endless forest, as if Yang Zhen and the others hadn’t entered the Black Pool at all, but somehow ended up in a forest instead.
What happened next left Yang Zhen dumbfounded.
In this cave heaven, a mysterious blue light eerily emerged, enveloping everyone.
Countless skeletons maintained their poses from when they were alive. There were palaces, pavilions in the forest, even ordinary houses with numerous people posing in various natural states.
It was as if time had been abruptly frozen by some powerful force.
Yang Zhen released his divine sense. When he saw a couple in the midst of a passionate exchange, stark naked in a palace, he became more certain of his speculation.
These people died without any pain. Particularly evident on the faces of the unclothed young couple was a look of bliss. Clearly, they had been mid-revel when death struck!
“This…incredible, this is truly incredible!”
“These people…their bodies are preserved impeccably as if they had just died. Their skin is unscathed!”
“It’s impossible, these people must’ve been dead for thousands or tens of thousands of years. Why are their bodies still so well preserved?”
“Something’s strange about this place. Everyone, be careful.”
“Look, isn’t that a sect entrance on that mountain?”
Someone yelled, and everyone’s gaze followed in that direction, instantly causing excitement.
“It’s the Sect Entrance to the Undying Clan!”
The large, continuous stretch of buildings clearly resembled a dilapidated Sect Entrance. Its scale was not small either, at least not smaller than the Ancient Spirit Race by any measure.
“Quick, let’s go and see. Maybe we’ll find some clues.”
Countless people rushed towards the sect entrance, while Yang Zhen carefully moved away with the cat.
Elder Qian stared at Yang Zhen’s retreating back, sporting a bitter smile. He caught Qian Lingsheng’s gaze and said, “I’ll go check out the sect. You…will you follow Yang Zhen?”
Qian Lingsheng hesitated for a moment, then nodded her head, “Alright!”
With that, Qian Lingsheng stealthily followed in the direction Yang Zhen went.
Lu Tianwei saw this and flashed a bewildered look towards Ji Yourong. “Junior Sister Ji, you and the others go to that sect first. I’ll go see what that bastard Yang Zhen is up to.”
Ji Yourong nodded, peering longingly in the direction Yang Zhen left. “Senior Brother Lu, be careful!”
Lu Tianwei laughed freely then snorted coldly, “Don’t worry, I have a Gold Life Talisman. Even if Yang Zhen dies, I won’t.”
The cat perched on Yang Zhen’s shoulder, sneakily watching the two people following them from behind. His eyes widened as he said to Yang Zhen, “Kid, two people are tailing us.”
“Who?” Yang Zhen asked indifferently.
“The woman Qian Ling and Lu Tianwei.” The cat gave him a curious look. “Where are we heading?”
Yang Zhen chuckled, counter questioning, “Tell me, in a sect, which place is the most important?”
“Holy crap!” The cat’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Of course, it’s the treasury and where they store the cultivation methods and martial skills! But those places are usually hidden and dangerous. Do you know where they are?”
Yang Zhen nodded. “Not only do I know where they are, but I also know how to get in, believe it or not.”
“Believe it, I totally believe! But, what about those two tailing us?” The cat grumbled disconsolately.
“Look, how selfish can you be? If they want to tag along, let them. It’s their freedom! Even if we both were there, could we empty an entire treasury?”
“Damn it, how am I being selfish? No…no, no, you won’t be so generous.” The cat eyed Yang Zhen suspiciously. Suddenly, his eyes widened. “They can’t get in?”
