Chapter 21: A Gift from God!
Far away from Saint Laurent City was a place where the sky was chaotic and the ground was dark red, as if it had been condensed from blood.
This was the Land of Darkness.
It was a paradise for criminals and crime.
Countless criminals who had committed capital crimes in the Empire were gathered here.
This was the most vicious place in the world.
A massive building was situated in the depths of the Land of Chaos.
Mosleyan, the highest priest of the Church of Shadows, stood quietly outside the church.
He was thin and wore a long black robe. Meanwhile, his expression was calm and numb.
His silver-gray eyes looked into the distance indifferently, as if his gaze was piercing through the world.
He was holding a black cane, and light blue blood slowly flowed down from where his palm touched the cane.
The blood was extremely viscous. It didn’t look like liquid and seemed more like an unknown liquid creature.
Unlike water, it flowed as a whole mass.
It was obvious that this was not human blood.
Meanwhile, beside him was a huge monster on the ground.
This monster was over ten meters tall and looked like a black mountain goat. However, the horn on its head was extremely sharp and pointed forward.
At this moment, the head and body of this fearsome beast had been separated.
It was dead.
These were the slaves of the Evil God that belonged to an advanced chaos race — the Giant Morse Goat!
Mosleyan calmly wiped the blood off his hands.
Then, a few followers from the Church of Darkness who were also wearing black robes ran up and skillfully cleaned up the corpse of the Giant Morse Goat.
They cut the giant goat’s body into pieces and placed them together.
Then, its head, limbs, tail, and horns were all sorted out and placed together according to their original locations in the body.
Mosleyan watched as the followers skillfully dissected the corpse of the Giant Morse Goat.
Then, he nodded in satisfaction.
Not bad. After experiencing this so many times, these followers were finally proficient.
Over the past few days, he had hunted more than ten Giant Morse Goats.
“Lord Mosleyan, this is yet another great harvest!” An obviously higher-ranked follower walked over and said to Mosleyan.
“Oh.” Mosleyan nodded expressionlessly.
“It’s a pity that it can’t be used in the ceremony!” Mosleyan sounded somewhat regretful.
“It’s alright, My Lord. The offerings we have offered to the Evil God are already many times more than those of other churches!”
Mosleyan’s expression did not change when he heard these words of comfort.
The victors would never compare themselves to the weak as that would only make them worse.
Besides, just because they had more offerings than other churches didn’t mean that they had more offerings than everyone else.
There were many believers who worshipped the Evil God in this world.
The Church of Darkness was not the only one!
He looked at the corpse of the Giant Morse Goat with some disappointment and turned to leave.
All the believers watched him leave, their eyes filled with reverence.
The believers knew that every time Lord Mosleyan would go to a mysterious place alone after he hunted the chaos race or other large races.
That was a place where he would be specially guided by the Evil God.
Ordinary followers like them were not qualified to directly listen to the teachings of the Evil God.
Thus, they could only silently accumulate credit in the Church of Darkness, in hopes that they could one day listen to the teachings of the Evil God and receive his blessing.
That would be their highest honor!
When they returned to the Church of Darkness, Mosleyan first went to the bathroom for a bath.
He had just killed a chaos creature and his body was stained with the smell of blood.
Listening to the teachings of the Evil Gods was a very serious and solemn matter. Thus, he could not be accompanied by the smell of blood when doing so.
That would be disrespectful to the Evil God!
After taking a bath and changing his clothes, he came to a grand, spacious, and solemn shrine.
This was the shrine used by the Church of Darkness to worship the Evil God.
This place was solemn and mysterious.
There were only five people in the entire Church of Darkness who could come here to listen to the Evil God, including him.
Mosleyan knelt on the floor, crossed his arms over his chest, and began a solemn prayer.
Eventually, he chanted a mysterious incantation. His gaze was reverent and fervent as he looked at the stone statue above him.
This stone statue was the statue of the Evil God.
The Evil God was the ruler of the Church of Darkness and the belief that the thousands of followers in the Church of Darkness held. He was a supreme existence in their hearts that could not be tainted, reached, or deceived.
“The Lord of the Void…”
“The redemption of the undeserved…”
“The primordial evil that leads to the Temple of Immortals…”
“The dead silence of the bright night…”
“The punishment above the thunderclouds…”
“…”
“Please accept the sacrifice of us believers!”
Mosleyan completed the full prayer.
Then, his heart mysteriously calmed down.
“I praise you!”
He kowtowed and shouted.
He would always have a strong desire to kill after every slaughter.
He would only calm down when he came to this shrine to pray to the Evil God after every massacre.
He would not be controlled by the desire to kill.
Seeing that there was still no reaction from the statue of the Evil God, he sighed silently.
His eyes dimmed as well.
Ever since that “miracle” happened three months ago, he had never received any response from the Evil God.
When he thought about this, he couldn’t help but feel slightly regretful.
However, as the most loyal believer of the Evil God, he still had a sublime belief in him!
Therefore, he had been hunting chaos creatures all this time to sacrifice them to the Evil God.
It was so that one day, the Evil God would be able to respond to the pious heart of his believer.
Even if it was just a tiny bit!
It would be enough!
In particular, he could not help but feel anxious when he found out that some other churches also worshiped the Evil Gods.
He was afraid that others had gathered the offerings that were admired by the Evil God.
He absolutely would not allow anyone to obtain the favor of the Evil God before he did.
Absolutely not!
Just as he was about to leave the shrine in disappointment, a long, vast, and indescribable voice suddenly sounded from behind him.
“Cyril… Fraszi… Kakal… Hill…”
He suddenly turned back.
He stared at the statue of the Evil God.
There was no movement.
However, he was sure that he had not misheard this!
That was definitely the voice of the Evil God!
Mosleyan was so happy that he cried!
Supreme Evil God, have you finally heard my prayers?
Were those words just spoken in the Qil language?
Thinking back, Mosleyan recalled what the Evil God had just said.
“Is that some kind of powerful dark magic?”
“Praise the Evil God!”
Mosleyan dropped to his knees as he felt a great sense of happiness.
Indeed, the Evil God has not abandoned us!
…
This scene did not just happen here.
This long, vast, and indescribable voice echoed throughout other places in the world.
Countless people who believed in the Evil Gods knelt in excitement!
This was a gift from god!
