297 Cheating
Cheng Huo’s hand that was holding his chopsticks paused. “What’s wrong? Do you dislike living here?”
Cheng Luo knew what her brother was worried about. She hurriedly grabbed his hand and shook her head at him before looking at Shen Yin gently. “Then I’ll get my brother to bring you around to look at houses later. He knows a lot of people and can find a good house.”
Shen Yin actually did not want to have too much to do with Cheng Huo, but she was still living under his roof. Since the head of the household had said so, it would seem churlish to refuse. She could only nod and agree. “Okay.”
Only then did Cheng Huo feel a little better. However, before he rejoice, the butler came to report that the eldest daughter of the Lian family had arrived with Young Master Shen.
!!
Shen Yin jumped up from her chair immediately and looked in shock at the two people standing at the door. Her eyes reddned. “Nian Nian, Meng Meng, how did you find this place?”
Shen Nian stood at the door and glared at Cheng Huo. Then, he forced himself to squeeze out a tear and ran over to hug Shen Yin. “Mom! I missed you so much! I thought that I would never see you again!”
Her son cried pitifully, and Shen Yin immediately pushed aside all her questions. She hugged him and comforted him, her heart aching. “Don’t cry, Nian Nian. Mommy is here. I missed you too.”
Shen Nian limply and adorably nestled in her arms. He was relieved that she had not asked if he had used the tracking device.
There were too many outsiders present. He must not let them know that his mother had her own tracking device. They might devise some other plot.
Shen Nian did not trust anyone. In this world, he only trusted Shen Yin.
“Sister-in-law.” Lian Meng’s eyes could not help but sting when she saw them crying so sadly. She awkwardly took a step forward and called out to Shen Yin. Then, she muttered helplessly, “Sister-in-law, we’re all very worried about you. Can we talk somewhere else?”
Shen Yin let go of Shen Nian and stood up to wipe her tears. She looked at Lian Meng, whose eyes were filled with worry, and nodded. “Alright, then follow me.”
“Yin Yin!” Seeing that she was about to leave, Cheng Huo hurriedly put down his chopsticks and blocked her way. “Yin Yin, where are you going?”
Shen Yin looked at him helplessly. “I’ll bring them to the room. You and Sister Cheng Luo can eat first. You don’t have to wait for me.”
“But, Yin Yin, they must bring you back!” That was what Cheng Huo was most afraid of.
It would not be so bad if Lian Meng had come alone. But with Shen Nian with her, they might try to persuade Shen Yin to go back with them. Then all his previous efforts would have been in vain!
Without waiting for Shen Yin to speak, Shen Nian glared angrily and stood between his mother and Cheng Huo. He stared at him with his round eyes and said warily. “Mom and I want to talk. Uncle Cheng, you should stay out of it. Cheng Mu.”
Shen Nian had not even glanced at Cheng Mu since he entered the house. However, when she heard him call her name, the little girl obediently put down her meat bun and walked over.
Shen Nian did not stand on ceremony with her. He turned his head and glared at her fiercely. “Keep an eye on your brother. Don’t let him disturb my conversation with Mom. Otherwise, I’ll ignore you for the rest of my life!”
Cheng Mu was instantly alarmed. She nodded repeatedly and said, “Alright! I promise to complete the mission! Don’t ignore me!”
Having achieved his goal, Shen Nian ignored her. He held Shen Yin’s hand and allowed her to bring him back to the room where she had slept last night. She locked the door and only the three of them were left in the room.
Lian Meng sat beside Shen Yin and asked with a soft sigh, “Sister-in-law, what happened between you and my brother? Can you tell me? If my brother is in the wrong, I’ll definitely tell grandpa to teach him a lesson when I get back! Don’t worry, our family supports you, you don’t have to be afraid of him!”
Shen Yin shook her head helplessly and smiled bitterly. She reached out to stroke her son’s hair and said, “I’m not afraid of him. I just… never want to see him again.”
“Why?” This was what confused Lian Meng the most. The two of them were clearly in love when they left the house. Why had they fallen out in the blink of an eye?
Shen Nian quietly looked at his mother’s dejected eyes. An idea suddenly came to him and his eyes turned even colder. “Did Dad betray you?”
Shen Yin’s body suddenly stiffened, and she looked at her son in disbelief. She found it strange that a six-year-old child like him could understand so much.
Her reaction told Shen Nian that he had guessed correctly. He sneered and asked, “Who is the woman?”
“What woman?” The two of them were confusing Lian Meng. After combining these two sentences together, she suddenly realized what they were talking about and felt a chill go down her spine. “My brother cheated? How is that possible? My brother has always avoided women. After all these years, Sister-in-law has been the only one. If a man like him can cheat, I’m afraid there are no faithful men left in this world!”
