Chapter 456: Chapter 459: If you want to blame someone, blame it on the fact that you are Bella Scott’s daughter.
After the departure of the Brandon Lucas and his family, Lily Gray got to know more of the members of the Lucas family gradually.
As the banquet reached its halfway point, the atmosphere in the banquet hall began to lighten up.
After feasting to their heart’s content, many guests took their dancing partners and glided onto the dance floor.
Lily Gray even spotted Skye Brown and Dylan Wellington, engrossed in a flurry of creative dialogue on the dance floor.
Seeing the two, she couldn’t help but chuckle.
When Aidan Lucas heard a giggle from the woman beside him, he leaned close to her ear, “What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing… just seeing some amusing things,” she replied.
“Mischievous,” Aidan Lucas said, pinching her nose gently.
Deep down he already knew; it was seeing Skye Brown and Dylan Wellington, nearly fighting while dancing on the dance floor, that made her break into such a cheerful laugh.
He was just about to ask his wife if she wanted to join him for a dance,
when Samuel Mckinley inconveniently appeared and approached them.
“Mr. Lucas, Mr. Fenton has arrived, and he’s waiting for you in the lounge.”
Upon hearing Samuel’s words, Aidan’s expression darkened.
Lily Gray lifted her gaze, noting the sudden change in his mood.
Assuming that Aidan was worried about her being left alone in the banquet hall, she reassured him with a calming smile, “You go ahead if you have work to attend to. There’re a lot of people here, I’ll just sit and rest a while. I’ll be fine.”
Aidan Lucas looked at his wife, her cheerful face beaming up at him.
For some inexplicable reason, his heart suddenly skipped a beat.
He suppressed the sudden surge of unease in his heart, and parted his lips to speak, “Alright, then you behave, wherever you go, Sebastian Lucas VII should accompany you, understand?”
“Yes, don’t worry, I’ll be good,” Lily Gray nodded, her face beamed with happiness.
Aidan Lucas stole another kiss from her lips before ruffling her hair. He then stood up and left with Samuel Mckinley.
Lily Gray remained seated, enjoying some snacks, and watching Skye Brown and Dylan Wellington dance for a while.
Feeling a bit tired, she yawned involuntarily.
Seeing this, Sebastian Lucas VII, understandingly suggested, “Young Lady, if you’re tired, you can go to the lounge and lie down for a while. This kind of banquet won’t be over anytime soon.”
Considering the Young Lady’s condition, sitting for a long time isn’t good for a pregnant woman.
So, he dutifully suggested her to go to the lounge and lie down for a bit.
“Alright, then I’ll go back to the lounge,” she assented.

No sooner had Lily Gray left than Blake hurriedly entered the banquet hall.
He had just returned from some snooping outside and proceeded to approach David Redington, leaning forward to whisper, “Master, I saw Winston outside just now.”
David Redington’s eyes darkened for a moment. “Are you sure?”
“I’m not 100% sure, I only saw his back. But it looked like Winston, no doubt.”
Winston was the top assassin, a foreigner with blond hair and blue eyes, working under the command of the Duke.
Although the man he saw was disguised with a flat cap and sunglasses, the tuft of blond hair sticking out from under the cap and the tall, muscular figure of the man suggested it was indeed Winston.
“It seems he plans to make his move during the banquet,” Blake concluded.
“Master, should we warn Miss Gray?”
Blake had always thought that the Master’s plan was somewhat off.
Not mentioning the fact that Miss Gray once helped the Master come out of his darkness, even without all these past connections, it was clear to him that the Master held special feelings for Miss Gray.
With all that being the case, he truly didn’t understand.
Why was the Master allowing the people under the Duke’s command to harm Miss Gray?
Upon hearing Blake’s words, a flicker of light briefly lit up David Redington’s deadpan gaze.
But just as quickly, the spark was extinguished and replaced with a dark somberness.
“No need, we’ll act as if we know nothing about this and won’t get involved.”
After he finished, his deep blue eyes glanced in the direction where Lily Gray had just departed.
Lily Gray… if you’re to blame anyone, blame it on the fact you’re the daughter of Bella Scott.
