Chapter 692 A reasonable matter
Gu Yan did not know what she would do if she were to drink a few more glasses of wine. Recalling what she had done last night, she blushed. She had been out of line with the wine a little bit.
How embarrassing! It would be awkward for her to face Qi Changfeng again. It seemed she was indeed having a hard time recently and had forgotten about her drinking capacity. Normally, she would never drink wine last night, but she had failed to control herself. Right now, she could only regret deeply in her heart.
She quietly recalled everything that had happened the day before and only then did she feel that Mo Yichen’s actions were suspicious. Yesterday, her mind was in a mess, so she did not think about it carefully.
Now that she had sobered up and calmed down, she began to wonder what Mo Yichen really meant by asking that question. Did he mean to get married with her after telling his mother the truth, or did he really doubted that she and Qi Changfeng had an affair after hearing his mother’s words that day? Gu Yan didn’t know.
Her reason told her that she should stop the random thinking right now, but emotionally she failed to do that.
But she was going to be late for work. She had told Jiang Jingcheng in advance that she would go back to the studio today. No matter what, she had been gone for a long time. Now she had to personally check the current situation in the studio.
She rose to her feet numbly. At this moment, she already felt a splitting headache. She lost her balance and held onto the sofa for quite a while before feeling better. Now she regretted drinking wine again. It felt good when drinking it, but now the alcohol slowed her down.
What was worse, Gu Yan felt her stomach churning. She didn’t know if she could make it to the studio at all. Maybe she would feel better if she could vomit, so she went to the bathroom and vomited everything that she ate and drank yesterday into the toilet.
As expected, she did feel better. But she was still not in a perfect state, and she knew that she wouldn’t do her job best, which would also be irresponsible to her customers. Hence, she decided to make herself a cup of honey water, which could further dispel the effects of the alcohol.
After finishing the honey water, even though she was bloated, the pain in her head did not lessen in the slightest. But she couldn’t delay any longer, she should set a good example for her employees and couldn’t be late for work.
So she quickly took a shower and changed her clothes. Only then did she feel that the smell of alcohol in her body had completely dissipated.
She opened all the windows. In the early morning, the cold wind blew into the room, blowing away the decadent aura that she had left behind last night. After taking a deep breath, she walked out of the door.
She did not drive herself, for fear that her dangerous driving might endanger herself as well as other people on the road. She had always been someone with public morality and would never do anything to harm the safety of society.
Everything went smoothly in the morning. She hailed a cab very soon after she left the house, and there were also no traffic jams all the way. When she arrived at the downstairs of her studio, there was still some time left. Looking up at her own studio, she finally cheered up a little bit.
Then she went upstairs. The atmosphere in the studio was very good. Although it wasn’t time for work, everyone was busy with their own duties and sat properly in their seats. No one even noticed her when she came in. She was secretly laughing. Apparently, she was very satisfied with the current working environment.
Since no one saw her, she did not make any noise to let everyone know that she had returned. She just had no intention to disrupt their work. Seeing that everyone was working so hard, her mood that was bad the whole morning finally improved.
She did not return to her office. Instead, she went to Jiang Jingcheng’s office. Regarding the work matters, she still had to talk with Jiang Jingcheng first. She had been absent for such a long time, so she needed Jiang Jingcheng to fill her in the latest work.
She had always liked the feeling of having everything under her control. In short, if she understood everything, she would feel more confident. This was a huge advantage.
Although she was the boss here, she still liked to do many things by herself. She truly enjoyed the process. She had never treated this job as a tool for her to make a living. She liked to design, and felt that designing was something that could make her happy.
“Knock! Knock! Knock!” Gu Yan knocked on the door and saw Jiang Jingcheng absorbed in work. She really admired his passion for work. He was almost a workaholic. No wonder he had no time to date. Although Gu Yan should be gratified that the employees were serious about their work, she still hoped that Jiang Jingcheng could take more time to enjoy life. After all, when he worked so hard, she would feel ashamed to loaf on the job.
“Come in!” Jiang Jingcheng said without raising his head. “Mr. Jiang, are you busy? Please arrange some work for me.” Gu Yan joked with him. Seeing that Jiang Jingcheng did not even lift his head, she had no choice but to speak first. “Oh, why are you here today? I thought you would rest for a few days.”
Hearing that it was Gu Yan, Jiang Jingcheng stopped what he was doing. To be honest, he was surprised to see her. Gu Yan had been busy the whole day yesterday, and he had told her that she could rest at home for a few days. Anyway, there was no need to rush work.
However, he did not expect Gu Yan to come today. But this was just typical of her, who had always been a workaholic. What else could she do after she returned to Annan City? Coming back to work was a reasonable thing for her in Jiang Jingcheng’s eyes.
“You’ve been working so hard. How dare I rest?” Gu Yan said with a smile. Jiang Jingcheng knew that she was joking and did not respond to her. He could see that she looked a little tired, so he poured her a glass of water and sat back down.
