Chapter 17 You cheat on me
Yang Bin was in lower spirits now like a defeated roaster, sitting there and eating the steak dumbly.
On the contrary, Qin Shu enjoyed the dinner quite well.
She didn’t take to heart the relation between her bestie and ex-boyfriend but ate and drank happily. It would be a great pity to miss such fine steak and wine.
Qi Mingran took a careless glance at her beautiful little face. Her total ignorance made him frown and feel upset.
Tang Anru smiled and said, “I thought you were mad at me when you stayed outside right now. I would be helpless if it was true.”
“Anything wrong?” Qi Mingran asked, drinking the wine elegantly.
“Nothing serious. Just some misunderstanding between Qin Shu and me. It was all my fault. I deserved it.” Tang Anru answered with regret.
Here finally came an opportunity for Yang Bin to show off.
“It was nothing to do with you, Anru. There was no misunderstanding at all. You were framed. Someone even asked a rascal to threaten us,” Yang Bin said indignantly.
He threw a glare at Qin Shu after finishing his remarks.
Qi Mingran read the implications behind Yang Bin’s words and frowned at Qin Shu, as if demanding an explanation.
The ambience became weird, with all of them staring at Qin Shu.
Putting the final piece of steak into mouth, Qin Shu chewed slowly and swallowed it.
“Who framed Anru? I will deal with the bitch if you can present the evidence. However…” Qin Shu stopped and swept a glare at them, “…no one would like be slandered and carry the can for others with no evidence. What do you think, Anru?”
All of them shut up now.
“I agree with you,” Tang Anru smiled with embarrassment.
Yang Bin was quite sulky. Qi Mingran looked calm but stared at Qin Shu with implicit intentions.
Qin Shu stood up and smiled at them politely, “please excuse me. I would like to use the restroom.”
…
Turning on the tap, Qin Shu poured the cold water on face to cool herself down.
She would not show up were it for the fact that she owed Tang Anru a favor.
Think about it: she, far from an actress, had to play two roles at the same time.
The wife of a colonel and the bestie of Tang Anru.
She had no idea what was in Tang Anru’s mind. She declared Qin Shu to be her bestie and then showed off her romance with Qi Mingran in front of Qin Shu.
Qin Shu was not deeply attached to Qi Mingran back then. She just wanted to try it out.
But it was kind of weird anyway to see her bestie together with her ex-boyfriend.
Qin Shu dried her face with the tissue and examined her in the mirror for the first time.
She looked gorgeous even if she wore no make-up at all.
She could be anyone but a lady.
No wonder then, when breaking up with her, Qi Mingran complained, “You make me feel insecure. I hate to see my girlfriend have many male friends.”
Now he had what he wanted: Tang Anru, a graceful lady with decent manners.
Only the lame guys would fear of losing their lovers’ heart all the time, thought Qin Shu.
She headed out but was blocked by Qi Mingran at the door of the restroom.
“What do you want, Mr. Qi?” Qin Shu leaned against the door, smiling at him.
Qin Shu had to admit that Qi Mingran was far superior to Yang Bin, in terms of both appearance and disposition. He was prudent, elegant and noble. His eyes were particularly attractive when casted on others.
There was no chance at all for Yang Bin to be together with Tang Anru.
Qi Mingran looked at Qin Shu with complex expression, frowning slightly, pressing lips and a faint light flitted across his eyes.
“What did you do to Anru?” He demanded.
Qin Shu smiled, “Now you wanna blame me as well? Show me the evidence. Otherwise, I will take you as a mad dog.”
“Mind your manners, Qin Shu.” Qi Mingran was a little irritated and his eyes were cold, “Anru has nothing to do with our breakup. Come at me if you cannot let it go.”
“You think too high of yourself, Mr. Qi. I’m totally OK with our breakup.” Qin Shu shrugged, not giving it a damn care, “If I get it right, we broke up a month ago and Anru said you had been together for three months. So, Mr. Qi, you cheated on me.”
Qi Mingran changed his face for a second, frowning and tight-lipped.
Qin Shu laughed, with all those frustration dissipating.
Light-footedly, she moved past Qi Mingran, who grabbed her by wrist suddenly.
