Chapter 64: Jiang Sheng’s Mysterious Mother
“It looks like your wife’s matter is a bit complicated. Well, I can’t just leave it that way, so I’ll make an exception for you, and you can take that as my after sales service.”
Shu Wensheng poured a cup of tea, pulled up his long and wide sleeves, and made an inviting gesture with his hand to Pei Siyan.
Even though Pei Siyan was not in the mood to drink tea, he still managed to take a sip of it considering Shu Wensheng’s hospitality. He put down the cup and asked, “Then where is my wife’s soul now.”
“I’m just a fortune teller, not a supernatural power psychic.”
Shu Wensheng took a sip of tea and replied. He didn’t show much on his face, which was telling Pei Siyan that he had no idea where Lan Yuan’s soul was in now.
Pei Siyan frowned immediately with a touch of unpleasantness.
At this very moment, Shu Wensheng opened his mouth and added gently, “But destiny is a tricky thing. Jiang Sheng was dead but now Jiang Xiao is by your side.”
Every time Shu Wensheng spoke, what he said was like a riddle. The implications were clear if you listened carefully, but the hidden meanings were always ambiguous.
Thus, Pei Siyan frowned a bit harder, ‘Can’t this Shu Wensheng just quit all these riddles and cut to the chase frankly?’
“You haven’t changed for the past hundreds of years! It’s killing me to wait for your frank responses.” Bai Hao, who was standing beside Pei Siyan complained.
He saw that Pei Siyan was getting a bit angry, so he jumped into the conversation.
“The right one will understand what I’m saying without any further explanation.”
Shu Wensheng smiled and kept them in suspense.
Bai Hao’s face darkened all of a sudden, ‘As if I didn’t say anything just now.’
“Though I’m not sure whose body your wife’s soul is in now, I’ll investigate on it. Just give me some time.”
This time, Shu Wensheng stopped leaving them hanging for he was smart enough to tell that Pei Siyan had already run out of his patience.
“The one you should suspect is the Jiang Family.” Shu Wensheng said as he pushed his glasses on his nose up. He took out an old notebook and then added, “Mrs. Jiang’s identity remains unclear. No one can find her background and history, even me.” He then passed the book to Pei Siyan.
‘Even Shu Wensheng couldn’t find out her identity?’
Pei Siyan and Bai Hao were all bewildered, and so was Hei Ming. Thus, three of them looked at the book curiously.
The pages were covered with photos of the same woman with different clothes from different times. Three of them were stunned as they saw this.
“The same person, but different times?” Bai Hao was the first one to ask with surprise.
“Not only so, but her face also has never aged. She has the look of a thirty-year-old woman all the time.”
Hei Ming said that and his brow was crinkled up.
Because there was only one kind of species that could remain their beauty and youth for hundreds of years, i.e., pure-blooded vampires.
But they had come to extinct as Lan Yuan died centuries ago, so there shouldn’t be any of them left. The vampires nowadays were either breeds or man-made ones.
“That’s what I got from the investigation on Mrs. Jiang. She had changed her name and lived at different times, so I can’t really tell who she is or when she was born.” Shu Wensheng said.
Pei Siyan frowned as he remained silent. Then he spat six cold words out of his mouth, “Head to the Jiang Family, now.”
